The Reviews about GHOSTS (page 1/ 2)
------ performed by The Jam

Brilliant | Reviewer: Chris Lomas | 2/16/09

You say "When i first heard it ages ago". Im 18 years old, and hence wasnt around for the Jam. But my musical taste lies 100% in that era. And although i can never have been there to relate to what Weller was writing about at the time. I can appreciate what it means, and how he develops a story in his music. THe Jam have been a small fascination with me for about 2 years. And i would say this is my favourite ballad.

Genius | Reviewer: haircut | 6/24/08

My favourite Jam record although I like them all. The best band ever, Paul Weller can write lyrics in away that normal working class people from the UK can relate to. Unlike the gangster rap and r and b rubbish about today. Everyone in Britain can relate to 'a whole streets belief in Sundays roast beef' in Town called Malice. Songs Like Tube Station tell a story which you can visualise in your head and know exactly what is going on at anyone time like a 3 minute film. I love Down in the Tube Station at midnight but Ghosts just makes me feel the same everytime I hear it and just stops me in my tracks.
As David Brent would say Genuis. fact!!

Who the hell cares about being a "true" fan, buying music certainly doesnt make you one. Of course it'd be cool if everyone went and bought the Jam's albums but that doesnt mean that you MUST do it to genuinely like / be moved by this song, or any other for that matter. Top tune, no matter where you heard it first, be it a tv show or whatever.

True Fan | Reviewer: Eloise | 1/26/08

Some of the reviews above are good (the one's by true fans), but others ones are just should be there, by hearing a song on a T.V show and then downloading it, does not make you a true fan and also downloading the song does not either cause all you are doing is taking money away from Paul Weller and the Jam, a true fan would have gone out and got the C.D, and how can you 'love' or think that by downloading it and 'knowing all the words' makes you a fan,i on the other hand have loved this song since the first time i heard it (years ago) and all of the other songs that Paul weller and The Jam have made over the years, and like real fans shall continue to listen to them buy their stuff.

An all time favourite and true classic | Reviewer: Helen | 1/9/08

Ghost is so evocative, a beautiful, haunting song. (plesae forgive the pun.) It is one of my all time favourite, Jam songs - I cannot believe it isn't on the 'Best of' Album CD - I lost my copy of the album it is one, when my previous marriage broke up, and hearing the song again - on East Enders, has prompted me to buy a replacement. Thank you Paul Weller et al

unity | Reviewer: Dean Hncock | 1/8/08

from art school to this!! they could go from all out assault riffage to melodic thought provoking tenderness. Ghosts is a take me away from reality for 3 minits classic.from that first boom of bruces opening note to the slick horn playing.God, they were good!

truly amaizing song | Reviewer: t | 1/7/08

i herd this song whilst watchin eastenders wit my mum n gf. this is truly one ov the best songs i have ever herd, how can 1 man dream up lyrics like that, So why are you frightened - can't you see that it's you
At the moment there's nothing - so there's nothing to lose
Lift up your lonely heart and walk right on through
But you keep it hidden just like everyone
You're scared to show you care - it'll make you vulnerable
So you wear that ghost around you for disguise

pure quality
