Unedited, uninfluenced by a record company or a marketing scheme they seem to draw from the essence of emotion. Their work is a manifestation of innocent attention to detail and relentless personification that brings their music to life. Listening to the Weakerthans makes me feel like I'm at home no matter where I am. Somehow a line from their songs always captures at least a portion of the way my mind is operating at the current moment.
