He went to a conservative college in San Diego and he offed himself by jumping off of a bridge hence the "step back from that ledge" part. The other lyrics are about the lead singer's rough childhood and his parents' divorce. Yes, suicidal it is, because doing Crystal Meth is commiting suicide, slowly at first, all the while speeding up. I can understand why it says, "I will understand if you never want to see me again". It's pretty self explanitory, just give it another listen and you'll catch all the minor details. For example "And well he's on the table, and he's gone to code."
