So beautiful. I'm 16 and I think that the first time I hear it was more than 5 years ago ... it passed on MTv.
This song marked me so deeply. I was young, and the movie with all these animals made me cry ;) Now too ;'-)

I forgot the band's name, I forgot the song's name but the tune and the movie always stay in my earth ;'-)
When I hear it I feel so fine, like dancing with my love my friends and my animals at the beach, the night around a campfire ... Even I never really feel it with nobody, and never have girlfriends(never have friends too) !
That's one of the nicest song ever written.
Now I discovered the weezers, I'm font of them. I'm so glad to find it !

how on earth do you all even know that this brilliant song, (paise for reflection) is in a move that no self respecting weezer fan should have seen. Just the fact that it is about a mermaid who dyes her hair should be enough to turn anyone (except my 12 year old cousin) of this film forever. it is a serious insult to remake sch an influencial song and put it in that movie. i can only be greatful i have never had te displeasure of hearing it.

Aquamarine is a crap movie, and that version sucks. The weezer version, on the other hand, is just amazing. I'm 15, and I first listened to it in the car some years ago, but I forgot the name. Just a while ago I heard it on Mr. Deeds, and it jumped back into my head, along with many other weezer songs. All hail weezer! (And death to aquamarine! I agree with natasha. What an injustice!)

this is definitely one of the best songs ever created and i have been a fan of it and weezer for more years than i would like to admit (agewise). the lyrics mean more to me than just a "vacation song" - it also helped me get through some really tough moments after my brother passed away.

Island in the sun truly is a great song. Despite being in some fairly, shall I say, despondent films, the song itself raises the overall watchability of films like "Aquamarine" and "Holiday in the sun". Overall, a fantastic song with calming sections but also heavier sections. Good on you Weezer.

And i love this song. It's true this song has been around for a really long time, but its a classic! Haha, i love it in the movie as well..but everytime i hear it i crave going on vacation to florida or something. it's amazing.

Hey I don't really care what movie the song was in. I first heared it when i was six(Im only 13 now), but i luved it after i heared it. seven years later i still do. oh and id never heared of weezer before now. but i do agree this song is a classic. awesome vacation song!

i really love this song - it really has a summer feel to it - chilling with ur friends and all - and they used it for AQUAMARINE - what a crap film - they should have used sum thing else - this song dusnt deserve tht kinda injustice. I mean what the hell. :s

i'm 11 and i ADORE this song. I first heard it in Aquamarine and i think the scene it is in is the best one! idon't just like the song because it's in one of the all time greatest flicks EVA!!! i just think it's so amazing. by the way whoever says Aquamarine is stupid is stupid themselves

This is a really cool song! I probably first heard it back in the nineties, but it's awesome. I don't even care that it was used in some idiotic preteen movies (although i'm kind of sad that that's how a lot of people first heard of Weezer). Well, you know, I guess it's all about exposure. As long as more people listen to Weezer's songs, it's cool.
