i think and it is for sure, most of who listen to this song could not hear this "i'll drown, you'll take .." part pretty well. Bcause it drowned by boisterous sound of the music :))~ . it backtracked. & i think it more match to paragraph that what people say to the character of the song (the singer(?)). this song is my "love at first sight" to WT :D . forgive me if my english make you completely confused, hehehe, 'cause english is secondary language that never use in my country.. :D

Adressed to the same Anonymous: Defiance and hatred, eh? Have you even /heard/ all the songs? I doubt it. How about "See Who I Am"? You know, the one about separating truth from lies, rising above false truths, et cetera? Defiance, yes, but I detected not one iota of /hatred/ in the song. "Stand My Ground"? Again, defiance, but also courage, hope,
resignedness. "Our Solemn Hour"? "Dark Wings"? "Memories"? "Say My Name", for godssakes! One of the saddest, most beautiful damn songs on the planet! Oh, come on! Let's analyze the band further next time before claiming to know every damn song by them, alright?

First let me say: I DO NOT WANT TO FLAME ANYONE WITH THIS POST. Okay? Good. Trust me, if I wanted to flame someone, you'd know. For the one Anonymous who wrote a review about Sharon (the singer) wanting to drown: Alot of WT songs contain hidden meanings, which differ from person to person. For some reason I can't pin down, I really don't think Sharon's suicidal, though the character in the song might be. I'm not trying to flame you, I'm just stating my opinion as you were.
I'm a huge fan of WT, but this is my least favorite song by them... I like the unpredicatble, watery aura of the music (if anyone knows what I'm talking about...) and the music itself-and of course, Sharon's voice is impeccably beautiful as per usual. However the chorus "I need you, Aquarius..." For some reason it creeps me out. Perhaps because I'm a Sagittarus, ha-ha. But seriously, it sends unpleasant chills down my spine.

but, i'm sure when i listened to the song along with these lyrics it was "you call OUT to me Aquarius" i have tried to submit this correction but for some reason it wouldn't accept it.

That song just connected with a temptation I'm struggling with at the moment with one Aquarius -- the airy, watery, uncatchable spirit of one of them. It could have been written out of just such an attraction and then all the possible implications emerge to tell us more than the concrete... It helps me relive and acknowledge my feelings. To accept the unacceptable.

Yeah, I'm an Aquarius...HAHA!But that's not the only reason why I like it. It describes my feeling right now: Sadness.

I also like the song 'Stand My Ground' by Within Temptation. A very awesome band.

I am a big fan on Within Temptation and this song is one of the best I've ever listened. The words, the composition everything fits to each other perfectly. Within Temptation are the best band ever! I bow.

When I listened to this song for the first time..I was stunned...I heard all of the other Within Temptation songs and found them generally all the same...Defiance,hatred,etc...But this one caught my attention...Not because of it's purely fantastic music and notes...but of it's meaning....Let's face it...not many people want to drown..it's slow..and painful...horrible suicide...but in this case..I think of it as..She wants to drown to join the gods

the sea, or water, means that intrinsic, inspirational, creative and femenine part inside everyone of us. In this song when she says "cause you, the sea, set me free" means that she can set free all her feelings through the enchantment of water.

this song is one of my favorites that they made. i love the bea and sound of it. its just intoxicating to listen to. i heard it and i instantly started listening to it more and more.

This song is actually amazing. The song lyrics I've submitted I took direct from the web page, official of within, so I think they should be right. To clear up any problems, it's feel not fear, until later when it is fear.

I think it's "fear," but I'm not sure...

This song is perfect in so manny ways it is hard to describe. This song can be used to express moods like sadness and frustration but always puts a claming ending to the end as if to say a huge fight with a friend is at an end.

for the guy up there who said he didn't understand the meaning of it

it compares Aquarius (some greek god or character) to the sea. throughout the song, it says how the sea (aquarius) made her free, and mentions the day when she will die drowned ("That one day you won't let me go, I'll drown, you'll take me down.")
there are other references but, for those, analyse the lyrics yourself :P

By the way this song is lovely, I had it in my head when I was on vacation to the beach.. it made me feel like not coming back. I guess the sea is an eternal source of inspiration for us
