The year was 1983 and just prior to leaving for an overseas tour, singer Mike Score had a date with a lady, who, during their date produced a photograph of herself. As the story goes, Mike asked her for it and she refused. Mike left disappointed, but with the inspiration to write the song 揥 ishing (If I Had A Photograph of You)? The song was a hit in UK and the US where it topped out at 26 on the charts, adding to the band抯 newly acquired fame. I had forgotten this one....!! | Reviewer: Tony Banyer ------ About the song Wishing (If I Had A Photograph Of You) performed by A Flock Of Seagulls Its basically a good song and good lyrics , but I have been spoilt, as the version I know better is from the C4 Show "Boys will be Girls".AKA - by The Honeytraps........!! Much faster with a more solid beat. Better all round arrangement . But without the original the cover would not have happened ...!!! (so often the case ) , eg Gloria Jones -"Tainted Love" , and Judy Street's "What" - both covered by Soft Cell.
