Verse 1
Got the news today
Doctors said i had to stay
A little bit longer and i'd be fine
When i thought it'd all be done
When I thought it'd all been said
A little bit longer and I'll be fine.
Chorus
But you don't know what you got 'til it's gone
And you don't know what it's like to feel so low
And everytime you smile or laugh you glow
You don't even know, know, know.
You don't even know.
verse 2
All this time moves by
Still no reason why
A little bit longer and I'll be fine.
Waitin' on a cure
But none of them are sure
A little bit longer and I'll be fine
Chorus
But you dont know what you got 'til it's gone
You dont know what its like to feel so low.
And everytime you smile or laugh you glow
You dont even know, know, know.
You dont even know, know, know.
You dont even know, no.
bridge
And you don't know what you got 'til it's gone.
Don't know what it's like to feel so low, yeah!
And everytime you smile or laugh you glow,
You dont even know! yeah! woah!
Verse 3
So I'll wait 'til kingdom come.
All the highs and lows are gone.
A little bit longer and I'll be fine.
I'll be...fine.

I can relate to this song, because I too have a chronic illness, End Stage Renal Disease (which is one of the many conditions diabetes can lead to. I am not diabetic, my kidney failure was caused by a doctor's mistake.) I am currently on dialysis 2 days a week, 4 hours each day. I have been going to that terrible, frightening center since June 2007.
Life on dialysis is very hard, as there are more foods you are not allowed to eat than foods you are allowed to eat; you must restrict your liquid intake and even if you are thirsty, once you've reached your limit, too bad sorry about your luck; you have two huge needles in your arm during treatment (and that's the lucky people whose veins are large enough for a surgeon to put what is called a vascular access in it, many of the people at my center are elderly and have veins that are too weak or small to hold a vascular access, so they have to have what is called a Permanent Catheter, or Permacath for short, which is a set of two tubes which they implant in your chest, back, neck, leg or groin area. With a Permacath, you are not permitted to bathe, swim, shower (due to infection risk), or engage in any kind of strenous activity because the cath may pull out, possibly causing the person with the catheter to bleed to death.)
Then there is the emotional aspect of it, where you ask yourself, "Am I really that bad of a person that I deserve to be on a machine so that I can live a little longer?" and the fact that a person on dialysis will probably not have a very long or high-quality life due to not being able to eat healthy foods or travel outside the area they live in, if they are on the transplant list for fear they will miss the call.
Basically, dialysis is a pathetic half-life all around, and without donors, 60% of the waiting list will die
While I am on the list for a donated kidney since June of 2004, I have recieved not one call due to my blood type (B+) and the doctor told me that it may be 3 or more years before I get a call. To everyone out there, if you feel as sorry for people like Nick Jonas as you say you do, please sign your donor card or become an altruistic living donor if you are of age (18+ in most states, 21+ in others) to help.
I love this song alot I think it deserves good reviews and it makes me cry every once in a while just because i know some of my family will one day die from the same disease Nick Jonas has. I love this song and it is actually my new fave.
I saw the Jonas Brtohers in concert which was the first time I heard this song. When Nick sang it brought me to tears. It lets you into his life. It lets other people with a disease know that they can fight through it and work to succede in what they want to do. this song has a beautiful message and I absoutly love it
a little bit longer... | Reviewer: anonymous | 8/14/2008
wow the first time i heard this song, it grabbed me- only because one of my friends, victoria, has lyme disease (a very confusing, abstract, terrible disease that even most doctors dont understand) and this song totally describes her. we don't know how long this terrible thing will last, we only pray that she will be healed.
this is a great song of hope, and as nick sings in the last verse, we're waiting for kingdom come were those who've accepted Christ as their Savior will live with Him forever, pain free. i know i'll see victoria there. until then she'll be dealing with this "little bit longer" idea....
God Bless
