Oh show me the way to the next whisky bar
oh don't ask why, oh don't ask why
For we must find the next whisky bar
or if we don't find the next whisky bar
I tell you we must die
I tell you we must die
I tell you
I tell you
I tell you we must die
Oh moon of Alabama it's time to say good bye
We've lost our good old mama
And must have whisky or you know why
Oh moon of Alabama it's time to say good bye
We've lost our good old mama
And must have whisky or you know why
Oh show us the way to the next little dollar
oh don't ask why, oh don't ask why
For we must find the next little dollar
or if we don't find the next little dollar
I tell you we must die
I tell you we must die
I tell you
I tell you
I tell you we must die
Oh moon of Alabama it's time to say good bye
We've lost our good old mama
And must have dollar or you know why
Oh moon of Alabama it's time to say good bye
We've lost our good old mama
And must have dollar or you know why
Oh show us the way to the next little girl
oh don't ask why, oh don't ask why
For we must find the next little girl
or if we don't find the next little girl
I tell you we must die
I tell you we must die
I tell you
I tell you
I tell you we must die
Oh moon of Alabama it's time to say good bye
We've lost our good old mama
And must have little girl or you know why
Oh moon of Alabama it's time to say "auf wiedersehen"
We've lost our good old mama
And must have little girl or you know why
you know why
you know why
Well, this is not a song by Bowie- nor by the " Doors", Nick Cave,
Elvis Costello, Tom Waits, Marian Faithful, or who ever else may
have performed it. It's a song by Kurt Weill and Bertold Brecht-
(and this has to be mentioned /credited always as such), from the opera " The rise and fall of the city Mahagonny". There - and as such it makes a lot of sense.
Is this review helpful to you? YesNo =_= Err... | Reviewer: Jareth | 7/14/2007
This is one of my less-favourite songs of Bowie. 0_= It's weird, lyrics are good but just.. the song... it doesn't make any sense to me. Don't like it. Hm,well... nothing more to say 'bout it. xD
