After leaving The Guess Who in 1970, Randy Bachman Decided
to start a new band with The gues Who's original singer,
Chad Allen. To Play bass he hired his old freind C.F.
Turner and for drums, his brother Robin who was still in
high school. The four eventually becam known as BraveBelt
and released two albums, BraveBelt and BraveBelt II.
After mild sucess the band wanted a heavier sound, so they
they asked Chad Allen to leave and replaced him with the
middle Bachman brother, Tim. All but one aspect of the band
had the sound they wanted, the name. BraveBelt just didn't
sound like the name of a hard rocking band, but that soon
changed. In 1971 the band had stopped at a truck stop in
Windsor Ontairio where they happened to notice an issue of
the trucking magazine "Ove More...

------ About the song Gimme Your Money Please performed by Bachman-Turner Overdrive
I have loved this song, as I have the rest of this album, since it emerged in the early '70s. Former Guess Who guitar standout Randy Bachman tapped his 2 brothers plus C.F. Turner to create Bachman-Turner Overdrive, a power-pop-to-hard-rock ensemble which went on to help shape the great rock music scene of the decade. "Gimme Your Money, Please" is a fitting kick-off number for B.T.O.'s 1st album, displaying as it does Randy's ample guitarwork, brother Tim's steady, hard-driving backbeat, and C.F.'s lusty vocals. It set the tone for a debut album which surprised many and delighted many more. It may have put Canada on the hard-rock map.

------ About the song Let It Ride performed by Bachman-Turner Overdrive
This song by BTO as they are called for short have put out so many songs and this is easily one of there best with the lead guitarist totally setting a head bangin sensation for any listener. If you do not enjoy this song I feel bad for you because your really missing out on some classic music. (thanks for the lyrics)
This cut in its original form (may have been shortened slightly for 1970s radio) is a superb work of art, particularly the unique and unregulated insrtrumental flow. If you haven't listened to it in 30-plus years, give it another try and you'll be very impressed.

------ About the song Looking Out For Number One performed by Bachman-Turner Overdrive
They'll be playing this one at the G.W. Bush Presidential library... as well as the rest of "B.T.O.'s Greatest" - but probably not in the lobby.
Now that you're practically "flat broke" - the story continues - but different.
I've been waiting for that bus all day, you see...

------ About the song Four Wheel Drive performed by Bachman-Turner Overdrive
An underrated tune from B.T.O., this one is made for driving. Put the pedal to the metal and let the pounding beat of the rhythm section take over your instincts. A killer tune that most people overlook when they think of B.T.O. One of their heaviest tunes. A hard rock classic.

------ About the song House of the Rising Sun performed by Bachman-Turner Overdrive
The very best version of House of the Rising Sun, ever. Lead vocalist Fred Turner explains that Hell's Angels requested House of the Rising Sun at one of their concerts, and who was BTO to turn down a request from Hell's Angels? House of the Rising Sun by BTO is the most bluesy, heart-felt and rocking version ever! It's on the Trail by Fire CD. BTO photos: http://www.GreatWriteUp.com

------ About the song Looking Out For Number One performed by Bachman-Turner Overdrive
This is different than most of the BTO songs, and to me, the very best. The guitar work between the verses is some of the most innovative in rock, and shows true virtuosity, not just repeating practices licks that are so typical of most rock guitarists. This is the cream of BTO.
One of the top 5 greatest rock anthems of all time!!! Love 'em or sick of 'em, even your grandchildren will have heard of these songs and they will live forever in R&R lore!
The others are;
Stairway to Heaven
Starship Trooper
Free Bird
Green Grass and High tides forever
