Behind Me Lies Another Fallen Soldier Lyrics

Review The Song (32)Print the Lyrics
I want, to bring You, all that is in my heart.
I want to give You, my everything.
But I've failed You. I've failed You so many times.
How can I stand here? How can I stand here before You?
When I begin to steal, what only belongs to You.
I am able to bring You nothing that isn't already Yours.
I am so ashamed of what I ever called my own.
Take what I have, take these broken remains.
What can I give to You that You don't already deserve.
You laid down Your life when I refused to give mine.

Hmmm.... | Reviewer: Oogtra | 11/3/09

I read a review somewhere that this is one of the singer's prayers, so yeah. Dont know where this whole war thing is going. And as far as this religous debate goes...

Ask yourself this. We all know that we dont know everything in the universe. So why the hell, do you say there is no God? Did you search every square inch of the universe? Did you?

Oh pain and suffering. God gave us the ultimate gift of love, free will. It is because of us that there is pain and suffering. It is our choices. Being ignorant saying just because there is evil in the world caused by MAN theres no God. Case closed on that.

And as far as forcing religon upon children, I disagree with that practice. But, the sacrement of confirmation, gives you a second chance once you have aquired more knowledge if you would like to stay a Christian or not. The main reason why people say yes is because they havent heard anything, because mommy and daddy shielded their ears from it. That is the mother and father's fault, not God's.

Religon causes and solves problems. And it isnt the concept of religon's fault, hell no. It is mans fault.

Stop blaming all of the ignorance in the world on religon and whatnot. Grow up and realize that it is our fault. Great damn. Stop complaining about religon etc and enjoy the damned music.

You call benji and atheist..? You are the type of moron who is so blind and following under religion like a fucking zombie you cant even figure out what this song means. You try to make points about how this song is about god and christ and about how its wrong to be an atheist. But do you realize he is just doing what your doing? following what he believes, and if you think thats wrong then you have just showed to everyone how much of an idiot you are..keep doing your worthless research, because nobody on this earth knows if there is a god. and if you can prove it id love to hear you make yourself sound like an even bigger ass than you are now.

Yeah... | Reviewer: Phil | 10/14/09

Great song but man there are a lot of fools on here. How can you call yourselves Christians while you're simultaneously dropping F bombs and telling people to go die? You're all a bunch of posers who need to get a life.

For shame.

well, yes this is a kickass song, to begin. but I'm so sorry I ever decided to look up the lyrics to it and I'm actually glad I can't understand them now that I have found out it's about religion...FUCK RELIGION. it is nothing but a curse on humanity. but none the less, still a great song, the simple guitar in the beginning is wicked.

It's about War...Not God | Reviewer: Samantha | 10/4/09

I think the majority of you are wrong. I honestly think that this song is about a soldier. The line that a few of you have interpreted as being about god, "You laid down your life, when I refused to give mine," could really be about all servicemen...How many Americans have refused to go into the military while thousands of others are dying? How many men and women have laid down their lives for Americans that will not lay down their own lives? "When I begin to steal what only belongs to you...I am able to bring you nothing that isn't already yours...I am so ashamed of what I ever call my own..." Freedom, anyone? If we haven't been willing to sacrifice our own time and lives in the name of it, how can it how can it truly belong to any of us? It belongs to the men and women who lay dead on the battlefield.

steven thinks that... | Reviewer: Anonymous | 8/8/09

its about him fading away from jesus.. hes not doing what he has to with the things jesus gave him.. so in a way hes stealing what god gave him. but hes ready too come back too jesus. its his prayer put in a wicked awesome screamo song man:)

its about god | Reviewer: Chris | 8/8/09

this song is obviously about god and feeling sorry for your sins, Tim Lambesis said it himself in an interview. the only time You is capitalized is when youre talking about God, or beginning a sentence.

..... | Reviewer: Leo | 7/2/09

This song is amazing. I, personally, agree most with this statement for the interpretation:

"I thinks its about a soldier that thought he acted like a coward in battle, and one of his fellow soldiers died in combat, and he felt ashamed that he wasnt braver because he thought it was his fault that he died"

It may or may not have something to do with Jesus, but if so, why the title? It implies that either Jesus dies during the apocalypse or that Jesus is a normal grunt in the religous army. For a Christian band, this makes no sense.

Come to think of it, ALID is the only religous-themed band I actually like.

Of course it's Christian | Reviewer: Whapz | 6/29/09

The whole song is about God.
He is saying he wants to give God everything he has, but that he's failed God so many times through sin. Then he says that there's nothing he can give that isn't already God's, so he offers God the "broken remains" of his sinful self. Then he says that there isn't anything God doesn't deserve, considering he created everything. The last line is then pretty obvious.

An awesome song | Reviewer: Anonymous | 6/28/09

This song is christian. Benji, you can go die. This band is HEAVILY christian, and this song is obviously about christ. Not just from that one line.
I am able to bring You nothing that isn't already Yours
"I am so ashamed of what I ever called my own
Take what I have, take these broken remains
What can I give to You that You don't already deserve "
God created all, and whoever is saying this is acting as if he has done wrong and in that way is ashamed to admit his sins. He is saying he apologizes, but doesn't know what to do about it. "Broken remains" is how he describes his soul trapped in his body which has done wrong.

Do your research benji, you damn atheist!
