Broken Sunday Lyrics

Review The Song (6)Print the Lyrics

I looked up at the stars tonight,
To see your face and to feel your presence now,
I need you here right now..
I came from a lonely place,
Windows strewn in my darkest hour now,
I need you here right now,
I need you here,
Cos you won't leave me lonely,
Cos I can't go on,
You won't leave me broken,
In a world that's not my home,

Cos I'll be gone,
Until forever,
I'll be home,
Goodbye my broken Sunday.

One love and one escape,
To another place where the pain and fear fade out,
I need you here right now,
I need you here cos you won't leave me lonely,
Cos I can't go on,
You won't leave me broken,
In a world that's not my home,

Cos I'll be gone,
Until forever..
I'll be home, until my name is etched in stone,
Oh, and we will never be alone,
Goodbye my broken Sunday.

You won't leave me lonely,
Cos I can't go on,
You won't leave me broken,
In a world that's not my home.

Cos I'll be gone,
Until forever..
I'll be home,
Until my name is etched in stone,
Oh,
And we will never be alone,
Goodbye my broken Sunday.

Review about Broken Sunday

Broken Sunday | Reviewer: Eliada | 6/14/09

This is probably a biased opinion, but I see it as a prayer. He looks to the heavens to "see your face and hear your presence" because God "won't leave me lonely/Cause I can't go on/You won't leave me broken/In a world that's not my home". Or maybe he's reflecting thinking that he's been forsaken, hence "broken Sunday".

Whatever the case, I dig the song.

Memories | Reviewer: Aaron | 3/10/09

The first time I heard this song, was early 2007. I was homeless, living in my van with my girlfriend. It was an awful time in our lives. It's been almost two years since that time, and I have only heard it a few times since then, but every time, I do, it evokes how I helpless and hopeless I felt then. Here I am now: I have an apartment, I drive a '99 Jeep, a '94 Pontiac (best friggin $550 I've ever spent; thank you craigslist), and an '01 Land Rover. I have a computer, the internet, cable tv, cold beer to drink, and money in my pocket. Yet every time I hear this song, it brings tears to my eyes. I've come so far; from living in a Ford Aerostar to driving a Land Rover; and this song makes me feel how I did then. This is a good song. It wraps it's self around confusing emotions, and makes sense of them. Good song, good song.

My Thoughts | Reviewer: Amanda | 12/7/08

This song reminds me of my fiance`. We were listneing to it on the radio one day, and he started singing it. It was the first song he ever sang to me. I'll never forget it. I love this song anyway. <3
