I love the lyrics, I love the music, I love the way David sings it. I love the way the Pixies sing it. He made a great choice, deciding to cover this song. It is cool how the lyrics and music share a slightly manic theme and sound. You hear the torture and longing, the obsession, the ache to touch, smell, taste anything, something, in this case a yellow dress belonging to his lover. Bowie did another excellent job on this one. Very unique and Bowie shines as someone who marries lyric and musical work together to make something better than the parts standing alone. True Synergy... the lyrics play off the music, and the music plays off the lyrics...together they leave a feeling of, and a glimpse into, a very private place. Anyone who has ever been obssessed with a lover will relate to this sexy song...if I were a guy this would be my anthem!
