Cap'n Jazz was a seminal chicago emo/punk band, locally
very popular in the early 1990s. Their first 7" record,
'Boys 16-18 Years ... Age of Action' was released on Basil
Shadid's Further Beyond Records in 1993.
They were able to reach a much wider audience in 1998
(ironically, three years after the band had been
disbanded), when Jade Tree Records released
'Analphabetapolothology.' This two-disc set included many
live and/or previously unreleased tracks, as well as a
re-release of the band's only full-length album, 'Burritos,
inspiration point, fork balloon sports, cards in the
spokes, automatic biographies, kites, kung fu, trophies,
banana peels we've slipped on and egg shells we've tippy
toed over.'
