I have grown up (since 1981) with the live version that appears on The Band's Last Waltz masterpiece, where Van, backed by The Band, pumps out an outrageous 1 song set: this song, Caravan. He wears a sequinned brown jumpsuit, and looks like a mad leprechaun as he leaps about, barks and growls, and backs it up with pure energetic showmanship.
