I'm a sailor peg
And I lost my leg
Climbing up the top sails
I lost my leg!
I'm shipping up to Boston ... wayy-yooo!
I'm shipping up to Boston ... wayyyyyy-yo!
I'm shipping up to Boston ... wayy-yooo!
I'm shipping off ... to find my wooden leg!
I'm a sailor peg
And I lost my leg
Climbing up the top sails
I lost my leg!
I'm shipping up to Boston ... wayy-yooo!
I'm shipping up to Boston ... wayyyyyy-yo!
I'm shipping up to Boston ... wayy-yooo!
I'm shipping off ... to find my wooden leg!

I love this song, and for the ass the posted before me, its okay if your parents raised you a yankees fan, I know you are suffering, but hey, i thing the Pirates are in need of fans. And if you hate the song, why did you search for the lyrics?
They suck. Should be called the "Dropdick Murphys." The intro instrumental is alright but it's not original. So many bands do one instrument playing then another, etc. And the lyrics have and always sucked like Tessie. The song is just so obnoxious screaming "I'm sailor's peg". It just sounds retarted. Plus the ultimate retard/dick Jonathan Papelbon has this as his intro song at home games when he comes out to close.

The opening instrumental and stuff is really good, but the lyrics are really, really gay. After the singer for Do or Die left, they shoulda quit. All Al Barr has ever done is make singles. I don't think he's made a single good album. I mean, I like Johnny, I Hardly Knew Ya (Which was a cover), Tessie, and The Gang's All Here, but their cd's suck now.

Punk Rock...great song, simple lyrics but carried by awesome music...
Departed, Black Donnelly's were smart employing such a bad a$$ song to amplify the Irish gangster genre...
Go Chargers beat New England!

Scorsese could not have picked a better song to open the movie with. It sets the pace for the entire movie. Great stuff. I bought the movie one day, and had to go out the next to buy the soundtrack. Enough about that though, the song is excellent. Simple, yet intriguing. Definately a good mixture of hard rock/punk with the celtic sound. I'll definately be getting some more of their music soon.
They make me want to go and riot. But I have to say that they are not metal. They are Punk. Irish/Celtic Punk. No metal to them. PUNK is what they are.
The very first time I saw ''The Departed'' and this song came out over the main title, I fell in love with it. It REALLY pumps up the whole movie right from the start and makes you get excited to watch the film. One of my fave songs and my fave film. I definetely plan on listening to more of Dropkick Murphys in the future. I had heard of them before the Departed, but I'd never heard anything by them.
I heard this song in The Departed and it floored me! It's like Celtic Thrash! Wanna get to know these boys better. I love Celtic music-I love metal, this is an amazing blend of both.
