CASTRUM was formed in September of 1994, when two
friends (Cornelius - guitar and Georgius - vocals) decided
to create a unique Death Metal band with one aim to play
the music they like. At the beginning they characterized
the style of CASTRUM as Gothic-Brutal Death Metal with
medieval parts. At this time the band's drummer was
Lancelot. But, after four months Lancelot left the band (he
called up for military service), then there was a long
search for a new drummer. During this time, without
drummer, the guitarist Cornelius composed many new songs.
Almost one year later in September of 1995, new drummer
Werkoff joined the band and the line-up of CASTRUM became
stable.
