Review The Song (42)Print the Lyrics
[Verse 1]
Come on come on
I see no changes wake up in the morning and I ask myself
is life worth living should I blast myself?
I'm tired of bein' poor & even worse I'm black
my stomach hurts so I'm lookin' for a purse to snatch
Cops give a damn about a negro
pull the trigger kill a nigga he's a hero
Give the crack to the kids who the hell cares
one less hungry mouth on the welfare
First ship 'em dope & let 'em deal the brothers
give 'em guns step back watch 'em kill each other
It's time to fight back that's what Huey said
2 shots in the dark now Huey's dead
I got love for my brother but we can never go nowhere
unless we share with each other
We gotta start makin' changes
learn to see me as a brother instead of 2 distant strangers
and that's how it's supposed to be
How can the Devil take a brother if he's close to me?
I'd love to go back to when we played as kids
but things changed, and that's the way it is

[Chorues with changing ad libs]
Come on come on
That's just the way it is
Things'll never be the same
That's just the way it is
aww yeah
[Repeat]

[Verse 2]
I see no changes all I see is racist faces
misplaced hate makes disgrace to races
We under I wonder what it takes to make this
one better place, let's erase the wasted
Take the evil out the people they'll be acting right
'cause mo' black and white is smokin' crack tonight
and only time we chill is when we kill each other
it takes skill to be real, time to heal each other
And although it seems heaven sent
We ain't ready, to see a black President, uhh
It ain't a secret don't conceal the fact
the penitentiary's packed, and it's filled with blacks
But some things will never change
try to show another way but you stayin' in the dope game
Now tell me what's a mother to do
bein' real don't appeal to the brother in you
You gotta operate the easy way
"I made a G today" But you made it in a sleazy way
sellin' crack to the kid. " I gotta get paid,"
Well hey, well that's the way it is

[Chorus]2X

[2pac Talking]
We gotta make a change...
It's time for us as a people to start makin' some changes.
Let's change the way we eat, let's change the way we live
and let's change the way we treat each other.
You see the old way wasn't working so it's on us to do
what we gotta do, to survive.

[Verse 3]
And still I see no changes can't a bother get a little peace
There's war in the streets and war in the middle east
Instead of war on poverty they got a war on drugs
so the police can bother me
And I ain't never did a crime I ain't have to do
But now I'm back with the facts givin' em back to you
Don't let 'em jack you up, back you up,
crack you up and pimps Smack you up
You gotta learn to hold ya own
they get jealous when they see ya with ya mobile phone
But tell the cops they can't touch this
I don't trust this when they try to rush I bust this
That's the sound of my tool you say it ain't cool
my mama didn't raise no fool
And as long as I stay black I gotta stay strapped
& I never get to lay back
'Cause I always got to worry 'bout the pay backs
some buck that I roughed up way back
comin' back after all these years
rat-a-tat-tat-tat-tat that's the way it is uhh

Chorus 2x

Some things will never change...

No one is on Pac's level or ever will be! | Reviewer: The best ever "Makaveli" | 7/22/09

I can't stand it when people say some of today's rappers like lil wayne, 50cent or who eva else thats whack are on Pac's level or close to him. There will NEVER!!! be anyone to get to Pac's level let alone be close to it he was a true one of a kind artist and as a artist his work will live on forever for many generations to come and and see for them selves that if Pac was still here they most likely would have never got in the rap game or wouldnt have been in it long.

~R.I.P~ 2PAC a.k.a Makaveli

legend | Reviewer: s.t. | 6/1/09

'pac aint just a rapper but a legend. his music is still alive to this day. hes inspired me in many different ways because of how he thought and i'm always gonna represent him because not only was he real but he kept true to people from the ghetto. now tell me, how many of them out there today in rap music representing them? not a lot but throughout his life in rap, he always kept it true to them. he never forgot where he came from and so many of these whack azz niggaz today have. thats why 'pac is one of a kind. because he put so many people before him and thats why i respect him and try to follow in his footsteps. rest in peace 'pac, i love u always nigga u and your music will always live on.

'TUPAC THA DON' | Reviewer: kevin | 3/19/09

his lyric are great, makes me happy, feel sorry for ghetto people and teaches me not loose hope in life no matter what. He said,"That's rightI know it seem hard sometimes but uhh Remember one thing Through every dark night, there's a bright day after that So no matter how hard it get, stick your chest out your head up, and handle it"

The true definition of the word rapper | Reviewer: That One Guy | 3/10/09

I'm not usually into rap mainly because of crap today that people call music. Rap today is about women, violence, drugs, money, and sex, a true song is a song from the heart not bs made up in a couple minutes. A true definition of the word rapper, Tupac Shakur. R.I.P.

Tupac Shakur The Legend | Reviewer: Lolita | 2/19/09

tupac you are a true idol to me. and the way you died is showing just how f-ed up some people are. Obama is now presedent and i think that maby we are ready now for a black president. I love how you rap about things that happend in your life and are true and meaningful. i have learned alot from this song. i wish you could of lived a better life. and i can really see what your life is like and what your life was around , you just tryin to live your life. you had to do what you had to do to survive, you inspire me, you my idol. and no tupac aint dead, you'll always be alive...and your music will never die neither, i love you tupac.
this is my favorite song, it shows how some people gotta live, and i wish it could be better for them, you shouldnt have to loose a brother in the streets...you shouldnt get shot just cause your black, or just how you chill. its soo wrong.
*Ghost*Changes*Dear Mamma*-good tupac songs.

We're Living It | Reviewer: pat | 11/7/08

I listened to the song the day after election and it finally sunk in. Tupac had a gift of seeing what would happen in the future before anyone talked about it, wrote about it, or even rapped about it. I just wish he was here to see this. He was "heaven sent" Pac and you sent him to us!!!!!!!!!

pure greatness | Reviewer: tupacfan | 7/8/08

this song is alsome. it is pure genius. this is true shit that is going on in our streets. i hate how rappers talk about all this stupid shit at least when pac rapped he rapped about real shit goin on pac is truely the greatest the only other person close to his level is lil wayne

Nas <3 | Reviewer: Kanyeeast | 3/9/08

Tupac is my idol, he's inspiring and all, he is the best rapper ever!!, Someone says that no rappers is on that level tupac is on, but i think Nas is! He's lyrics are meaningfully not like 50cents i wanna fuck ur lady and take ur diamants song! I think Nas is on that level that tupac is on, but he isnt that gr8 as tupac!
