Your rain falls like crazy fingers
Peals of fragile thunder keeping time
Recall the days that still are to come some sing blue.
Hang your heart on laughing willow stray
Down to the water, deep sea of love
beneath the sweet calm face of the sea swift undertow.
Life may be sweeter for this, I don't know,
See how it feels in the end.
May Lady Lullaby sing plainly for you soft, strong, sweet and true.
Cloud hands reaching from a rainbow tapping at the window, touch your hair
So swift and bright strange figures of light float in air.
Who can stop what must arrive now? Something new is waiting to be born
Dark as the night you're still by my side shine inside .
Gone are the days we stopped to decide where we should go, we just ride.
Gone are the broken eyes we saw through in dreams gone, both dream and lie.
Life may be sweeter for this, I don't know,
Feels like it might be all right,
While Lady Lullaby sings plainly through you Love still rings true.
midnight on a carousel ride, reaching for the gold ring down inside.
Never could reach it, just slips away but I try.

Review about Crazy Fingers Love This Song | Reviewer: Miss Liz | 8/25/2008
Melodically, it's one of the best songs ever. So peaceful and intriguing. I'm not a huge Deadhead, but have always loved this song. I was off on a lot of the words in the lyrics and appreciate it so much more now being able to read the lyrics.
What a beautiful scene that's painted with words!
Thanks a bunch!
One of the Most Beautiful songs ever | Reviewer: Frank | 2/23/2007
I'm assuming the lyrics were written by Robert Hunter.
Melody wise, Crazy Fingers is one of the most beautiful songs ever performed by the Grateful Dead.
It reminds me of a dreamy love song. Jerry Garcia just crooned beautifully. My favorite versions of the song were performed in the 80's and 90's. I last heard Jerry sing it in 1994 in Eugene Oregon.
I havent mentioned the beautiful guitar solo. Jerry just shines.
I guess its obvious its one of my favorite GD songs.
Too bad most people(non Deadheads) who love beautiful songs will never get to hear it
