------ About the song The Sleeping Sickness performed by Dallas Green

i can't begin to describe how this song hits me...i went through a separation with the mother of my son, my brother almost died in an accident, and my father was diagnosed with cancer. I feel alone and Dallas put my feelings in song. My misery will suffice...

only in hyperdrive. His voice truly sets the standard for guys like John Mayer, Declan O'Rourke and Sting. Something is wrong when I have to just stumble across an artist of this caliber surfing MySpace profiles. 3 days now I have been listening to this album and sent the song all over. Bought 3 copies of the Cd and sent them to women that I love. totally hooked... Thank you, Canada...again.

------ About the song Save Your Scissors performed by Dallas Green

Haha, thanks to the guy who said that city and colour thing - very clever, I didn't even notice that :).

People will have their opinions on the song though, some people are stupid, some people aren't, it's just that way... there really only is one meaning the artist intended for it, and that's the right one, but if people want to make a mental olympics of it, then sure, let your imagination run a muck.

    lol.. | Reviewer: Ross
------ About the song Save Your Scissors performed by Dallas Green

The song is about a guy who breaks people's hearts without realizing. He's telling them to save their scissors for a guy who is worth crying over. He says girls are always falling in love with him, even though he doesn't claim to have any part in it. Nothing to do with cutting yourself, getting broken up with, feeling heart broken.

------ About the song In the water, I am beautiful performed by Dallas Green

As some people may know, a lot of Dallas's inspiration comes from one Kurt Vonnegut (especially his work, "Welcome to the Monkey House").

The title of this song comes from the foreward of the novel in which Vonnegut talks about his personal appearance, stating that he is obese, and therefore not good at many sports.

He does say that he enjoys to swim, thus "In the water, I am beautiful".

------ About the song Hello, I'm In Delaware performed by Dallas Green

Dallas is probably the most amazing man i've ever. His songs, his voice, and the meanings are so truly beautiful. It gives me chills. I've fallen asleep to his CD every night for about 2 years. I love him. Ha

    I think... | Reviewer: markus_armd@hotmail.com
------ About the song Sam Malone performed by Dallas Green

Just a thought, but something tells me that the lyrics to this song were written and intended to be acoustic, but ended up being used in "Where no one knows". I think that when Dallas had some spare time he arranged them the way he wanted them into an acoustic piece. Any thoughts on this?

so beautiful, it hurts. | Reviewer: Abigail
------ About the song Hello, I'm In Delaware performed by Dallas Green

This song is just so powerful and really makes you think. My sister is leaving for the Coast Guard in a few weeks and might possibly be stationed in Delaware. I've never been away from my sister for a really long time and this song just reminds me of her leaving and how much its going to kill me to watch her go. This song was just made perfectly for me in every way it seems. After hearing this, it made me curious of City & Colours other songs and I was an instant fan. Thankyou for this song Dallas Green(:

I'm going to miss you Emmy. Your in your family's hearts and minds. Please be safe.<33

------ About the song The Sleeping Sickness performed by Dallas Green

    So beautiful...

It's odd how a few words can do this sort of thing to a person, just make you feel like you're not the only one out there going through it. I've been at war with depression for as long as I can remember and hurt myself more times than I can count, and this is like he got into my mind and wrote about how I feel. I can't even listen to this without crying because it's so emotional for me.

------ About the song The Sleeping Sickness performed by Dallas Green

My dads friend passed away not to long ago he had suffered from cancer and while he wasted his days away in that hospital bed he heard this song on the radio and fell in love with ... this song was the song he had played at his funeral and now is a big part of our lives!

------ About the song The Sleeping Sickness performed by Dallas Green

My partner, my true love, recently told me he wasn't happy in our relationship, and wanted to think about things for a while. At the moment we're in some sort of sh***y middle ground. I'm very unhappy, but don't want to lose him. so, 'could it be, this misery will suffice?' sums up my life right now.
    Great.

------ About the song The Sleeping Sickness performed by Dallas Green

i can just see them doing this live and the whole venue being in tears midsong. I am a fan of alot of acoustic stuff, but this really stands out. Imo, music should have Lyrics at the forefront of importance. This song sticks with me not because of the great production value or the crisp vocals from 2 great singers. Pure and simple its the lyrics. I actually disliked the music, especially the chorus when I first heard this song, but the lyrics stuck with me so much that i bought it on itunes. After a few more plays, Im enjoying it in all aspects.

------ About the song So Low performed by Dallas Green

First of all, he writes such heartfelt lyrics.. that never cease to somehow be relatable to any instance in life. I admire his thoughts and I also agree with Morgan.. this song heavily focuses on the feeling of disregard and it's the desire to be noticed.

------ About the song Sometimes (I Wish) performed by Dallas Green

Regardless of how many times I listen to his music, it still has a way of captivating me. It stops time and space, making only the song, the lyrics, the melody matter and nothing else. He let's me get lost in his voice. This song, as well as his others, always finds a way to do that to me. They simply speak, and so delicately demand an audience. Who are we to deny that? Oh well. But I digress. Overall, Mr. Green has a way of making you fall in love with his voice, poetry, and melody without ever even trying. And that's a true gift.

------ About the song Hello, I'm In Delaware performed by Dallas Green

The first time I heard this song, it was played in our auditorium at our high school during a memorial service for my friend who had just died in a car accident. A boy in our grade covered the song and it was phenomenal.. Almost eerie, not a dry eye in the place. I think the song is so perfect for her, especially the lines:
    And she walks the night.
How many hearts will die tonight?
We were in 11th grade and it was so hard and still is.. such a sweet and happy girl left us too soon. The second time I heard this song, I ran up to find out who sings it. I fell in love with City in Colour shortly there after.. happy I was able to see them in concert here.

So I met my girlfriend at school which is 6 hours away from DE *where I live*. I came home for the summer and it is so hard being away from her. I love this song SOOO much, the first time I heard it was because she said "Baby look I found the perfect song for us". =)
