i really love this song because it reminds me of me when i'm sad and i have ben going through some regrets that make me sad every day but i get over it and dance with the devil all the time cuz i've ben to hell many times and back

From my point of view it sounds like a soldier confound with the meaning of his purpose of life and religion being intertwined.

"Here I Stand, Helpless and Left for Dead" Starts with him stating the problem. He is "standing" (alive), but helpless if G*d decides to take him away. Frustrated with confusion "In this world so wrong", in a sense he would be judging g*d's work of the world and why is it meant to fight? Notice him saying "I believe in you", and then "As We Dance With The Devil Tonight"... Sounds like an inner-struggle between him and g*d. That's all I could figure out so far. Not sure if it goes any deeper.

i also belive its a Break-up song. first part means that he noticed so many things do just not feel right in this relationchip day after they but he propably doesn't wanna realize it (close your eyes). Then he can't stand it and tells her that he himself actually knows whats going on and he doesn't wanna live in this 'fake' relationchip (=world) anymore. so i think "dance with the devil" simply could imply the sorrow and pain of a break up "say goodbye as we (finally realized this is not going to work) so we have to dance with the bad pain and sorrow that could make us to bad ppl (don't look him in the eye= don't accept the sorrow, just get it over with).... yeah I pretty much think thats it!!! :)

i think it is about two boys, that maybe are friends or somthing like that! and both of them is in love with the same girl and for a while they are in a love triangel, but one night she has chose one and they all three dance one last dance, and the boy she chose is thinking that the other boy is the devil, and he is afried that when she is look in the others boy eyes, she will change her mind! but it ends that the girl dies somehowe!! i don't really know, it was just in my head first time i heard the song!! and sorry for my english!!

It's when you or someone else it's try to let things that hurt you but you dont really want to and you know that it can get worse, or you try to help that person, because you dont want to leave him/her all alone, and have to decide what would be better of both you

...first part is what girl says.For her life has lost his point, everything is miserably, and she don't see reason to live. it seems that the girl is in some great problem, she is drug dependent, or something like that. he is watching in her cold, empty eyes, and that just kills him. he told her that he know she's lying him, and that he'll never let her go, that they can pass trough that together. And than when they are "dancing with the devil", she acctualy overdose her self, he's fighting for her life talking her not to look devil in the eyes which means not to surrender...well when he says goodbye it looks like he's dying with her...i don't know...sad song...it make's me cry..

actually, I heard that this song is based on a true story. it's about a boy who was trying to get acceptance in a gang and so in order for them to let him in, he had to take a woman off the street (in which they did so). once they did that, they put a bag over her head and tied her up before the guy could see and so they preceded to beat her, rape her, etc., and once they took the bag off of her, he found out it was his own mother. this led to him feeling so horrible that he went to the top of a building and committed suicide.

well, that's what I was told by classmates. but I can see how it fits. I had to keep myself from crying in class while I was trying to imagine it.

Okay, I think I have an idea what this song means. A guy has caught his girl cheating on him (or lying to him about something major like that), and she seems to be genuinely sorry, tears in her eyes as she begs you to forgive her and for you to take her back, but you just can't look at her face without feeling the pain of what she did to you so you have to let her go and say goodbye but you make love to her one last time (because both parties involved are actually truly in love) telling her she will be fine and you believe in her and for her to go on with her life.

A 'farewell-f***' song so-to-speak. But a deep one.

to me this song means something really strange, but since im stoned i looked at it from a different perspective.

I think the song is about someone who lost a person he loved, and because of that he's depressed and cant get out of this situation('stealing the live of mine' cause he cant stop thinking about her)so he wants to kill himself,
The spirit of this dead person tells him its going to be alright, and 'he wont last long in this world so wrong' is because that persons life was taken to soon, He has a hard time getting his business sorted so it tells him to hold on. It sounded allot better in my head :)

this song goes way deep and i personally love it! to me it seems to talk about a person who is going through a rough time and the singer is trying o help. and it also talks about how deceiving life can be and your about to fall all the things that go through your mind. great lyrics great song love the solo guitar parts and the beginning was awesome

to me this song comes across from a different perspective. most say that it is about someone facing a hard point in their life and are about to cave in. to me it seems that it is about someone else falling farther into darkness, and the singer is trying to help them. supporting this are the lines "i believe in you" and the lies that he sees through are the person trying to say that there life is so far gone it will never get better.

i have personally gotten this low in my life, and i even almost killed my self, so every time i hear this song it reminds me of the girl that was willing to "dance with the devil" in an attempt to win back a soul i was ready to forfeit.

To me, Breaking Benjamin is an amazing rock band, can't get enough of them. I reckon behind the awesome instrumental parts, their songs have deep, great meanings which can relate to just about anybody. This song in particular is definitely one of those songs that stops you from doing whatever you're doing, makes you focus on the lyrics and puts your mind in a thrilling, mind-blowing chokehold.

From the analysis of the lyrics, I think this song is about someone going through many regrets and tough moments in their life and they feel like they want to die, or let the 'devil' come and kill them as they've given up on their life. The person is saying that you/they should say 'goodbye' to the world as you 'dance with the devil', which could mean 'surrender to the devil' and they're telling you to not look the devil in the eye as he kills you so that it'll be a quick, less painful death. Hint the lines:

^those lines depict a scary yet thrilling image in my mind whenever I listen to them. It's as if the 'devil' is staring you in the eye as he sucks all the life out of you, obliging to your request to have him end your life since you don't want to suffer anymore. The 'devil' has made many lies to you and your life, making it feel like a sham yet you believe in the 'devil' and you want him to continue killing you.

Breaking Benjamin have made this en epic, flawless, thrilling song, giving the listener many mixed emotions about the song. At the very end of Dance With The Devil, if you listen very carefully you can actually hear Ben whipsering "Goodbye...", emphasizing the theme and meaning(s) of the song - as if the 'devil' is about to seriously end your life right there and then, as you take your final breath and say your last goodbye to your friends, family, the world and your life.

But all of that is just my set of opinions, thoughts and emotions about this song. Not so sure if that's what Breaking Benjamin meant throughout the song as they were writing and recording it. In conclusion, this song review and analysis is what I reckon Dance With The Devil is about.
