The thing about In Flames is that their songs really have the melody stand out. Anders' voice is astounding and has so much emotion and power. Many metal bands play things as fast and as hard as they can, but In Flames take their time and produce something wonderful. They haven't turned my life around, they haven't changed the way I see the world but however i'm feeling, they calm me down and put me into a kind of neutral state of melancholy and inspiration.

In Flames lyrics make the songs, and are the deepest metal band out there. I have been listening to them for only about half a year but I am now a die-hard fan of theirs and have every single album of theirs on my ipod, and i love them all. Best.Band.Ever.

I certainly do agree with you, in flames are the masters in expressing emotions in there songs, lyric as well as melody.
I can also confirm that they change lives, my life made a huge turn once i found them, it helps you get confident as it makes the adrenalin burst into your veins if you listen closely, and make you feel like you can do everything, i wish i had in flames in my ears everytime i have to make a difficult decision. but sometimes it will have do with playing up a song in your heads. IF is second to no one imo... even after 5 years of listening...

Dark signs is a very good song also, with great choruses with Anders voice full of emotion. I concur with who said that it´s odd that one can find some of the most profoundly emotional lyrics in metal bands, and In Flames belongs to that category. I don´t know if they´re lyrics will change or have changes someone´s life, but in reading I sometimes find several questions that I have asked myself in one point of my life or another and also dedicated a lot of thinking time.
