Davion Farris Biography
Davion Farris is known to be one of the premier up and coming talents in R&B music today. With a melodic vocal style and heartfelt lyrics, Davion has developed a universal appeal and unique ability to reach various audiences.
Davion began his professional career as a pre-teen with his brothers in a group called N3D. They were signed by Industry veteran Jheryl Busby to DreamWorks records in the late 90′s. As a seasoned songwriter, Davion was an integral member of the WoodWorks, an award winning, multi-platinum writing and production team. He and the WoodWorks have worked with some of the top names in music such as Usher, Jaheim, Lloyd, Grammy award winners Bryan Michael-Cox AND the J.U.S.T.I.C.E L.E.A.G.U.E, The PussyCat Dolls, Ginuwine, B. Howard, Eric Hudson just to name a few. In 2009, Davion received an ASCAP award for “Never”, a song that reached #1 on the Billboard Adult Contemporary Charts. The album went on to sell well over 700,000 records with just one single released, “Never”. Davion recently featured on Mack-10 and G-Malone’s 2011 released album titled, “Money Music”. Davion appears on “I’m Winning” which is also the first single from the album. The video was released January 3rd on WorldStarHipHop.com, tallying over 8 million views in just 4 days.
Fate would have Davion hit the road as a featured vocalist in the Summer of 2011 with Def Jam Recording artist Abraham McDonald and then his with 9 Time Grammy Award Winner Chaka Kahn. As the singing tenor for Chaka Khan’s ensemble, Davion visited 15 cities in 6 countries over a two month tour. These stints on the road added a little more live performance seasoning to help Davion get ready for the next chapter.
In 2012, Davion’s signed his first solo recording contract inking with Los Angeles based entertainment company, 4 SOUND. Through 4 SOUND/ Universal Music, Davion Farris self titled debut album will be released this Fall in Japan .
