In art, music, and life, from the most crucial to the most
mundane, three truly is a magic number. From the Holy
Trinity to the commonly uttered phrase, "the third time is
the charm." From "Master Of Puppets" to "Master Of
Reality."
Demon Hunter is proud to carry on that tradition with "The
Triptych," the explosive followup to "Summer Of Darkness"
and the most important heavy album of the fall.
Middle Ages and Renaissance artists often used "triptychs"
when constructing their alter pieces - a triptych being a
painting or carving with three side-by-side parts, panels
or canvasses, which together (and only together) form a
greater whole. W More...

Religious People Amuse the Shit out of Me. | Reviewer: Cailyn
------ About the song One Thousand Apologies performed by Demon Hunter
I won't argue, you can tell yourself anything you want and believe it, I will not tell you otherwise if you don't want to hear it. But for those of you forcing this idea of the song being 'devine'ly related, I would like to point out that you did not write this song, so no, you do not know at true and most raw meaning the band intended to create. For all anyone knows, it could be about both of the most popular views, then again it could all the same, not be. My words for Hollycat (Who put a lot of hypocritical words out there): though I don't have an ounce of religious belief in me, I hardly think that if there were a God, he (Or she) would waste their time telling YOU that this song is about Christ. I don't think you would be so important in comparison to every other 'child of God' out there. I could go on and point out everything wrong with what you have said, but it would be a waste of time because, as you said, it wouldn't budge your beliefs.
Its a good song, done. None of you (or me) can interpret it perfectly, only the band knows what reasoning for the song or parts of the song are. Done deal.
As for all the religious arguing being done over a song they can't properly interpert properly, I would like to say that none of you are acting logically enough for your word about religion to mean anything of worth to anyone, so get over yourselves. You are no more right then anyone else believing in a divine entity, and whatching argue about it makes for a good laugh, but nothing more then that. I had fun reading your comments, but they are pointless here, if you want to argue your point join a religious debate, you will get more of a chalanege and can go home still feeling good about getting your thoughts across.
After my post (because if I say others need to stop posting a argument up then I would be acting hypocritcally) I think it would be best if everyone (including me) leave things well enough alone and just comment on whether we like the song or not. Because thats all the really mattering in a place like this.

One of my close friends was talking about this band like it put stars in the sky. I finally remembered to listen to a song called 'Not I'.
Oh. My. God.
This song is amazing! I can't believe it. It's been a while since a song REALLY got a beat in me. I was so pissed off when I couldn't find a copy for my MySpace.

Demon Hunter ftw!
I absolutely love this song!! It reminds me of all the people in my life that do stand by me through the demons within.
I fell in love with them before I knew they were christian... which is usually a turn off for me, but their songs are so applicable to life in general that it doesn't matter to me.
They've quickly grown to be one of my favorite bands and I just can't stop listening to their music.

This is a good song, why are you fighting over religion with this? It's a song, not church. Just because the band members may be Christan doesn't mean it's listeners should be. Don't you people have anything better to do with your time than fight about religion? God, that's how war starts.

------ About the song The Tide Began To Rise performed by Demon Hunter
I can't believe how many of you actually think that God isn't real. He is simply and awesomly real. I am living proof, and I frequently listen to this song. I am also what you could call a Revelationist, that is that I am waiting to be with God during that final battle. I want to rid this earth of the evil Satan put in it. And, anyone that is against this band are all part of Satan. God will save us. He will smite down Satan from your hearts and this earth. He is the end.

God will show up. You'll see. I think one of the things you have to do first is give up your idea of who God is and open up to knowing who God actually is. You limit God's work in your life if you doubt God's existence, too. Believe me, God is interested in your life and human suffering has God's attention. By the way, you don't have to be religious to believe or accept God.

Okay he I'm sure he would exceot any religion but santanic.
Chill out, people | Reviewer: Slowlyvverot
------ About the song One Thousand Apologies performed by Demon Hunter
This is a great song, first of all. Demon Hunter is a talented band with talented musicians and a singer who can write as well as he can sing/growl.
I'm not talking down to anyone or claiming I'm better than anyone, but some people just need to chill the fuck out. Listen to some post rock and lay in the grass and stare up at the sky for a few hours, then come back to the real world.
The way I see it, this song is about one thing only: hurting a person that you care about. Now, you can say it's about (insert divine figure of choice here), but some lines just don't fit that proposal. For instance,
"There you stood in disbelief,
trying all you could to see through these lies
And every word that I could breathe,
would find you more inclined to leave, but I tried
And knowing what I've done to you,
with every thought you suffer through"
Jesus is a divine individual, correct? Jesus doesn't worry about anything. He can't be sad about things. He's JESUS. He wouldn't stand in disbelief, nor would he try to see through any lies. He's omnipotent and all that holy jazz. Every word that the speaker utters finds the other person "more inclined to leave." Jesus has been dead for a long time, he's in Heaven and probably isn't leaving. Therefore, it's hard to say that Jesus is more inclined to leave the speaker's presence, since he's not there in the first place. The hXc Christians will say "but Jesus is always in your presence." But they see past the fact that Jesus would not leave a person, no matter what ungrateful acts they committed. Jesus loves all, or so I'm told.
One last line to prove my point...
"Oh, the shame that you hide"
Jesus has shame in the human race? Hold on, I'll wait for you to answer.
...
...
Yeah, didn't think so. Jesus would not have shame in the people he saved. Or else why would he SAVE THEM?!
Take every line in this song, and apply it to the "dude hurts girl he loves" situation, and you get a 100% perfect fit. I believe that's what the lyrics point towards. In response to someone else who reviewed this song (his/her name escapes me), I'm so sick of people not looking into the lyrics and really understanding what they're saying.

------ About the song One Thousand Apologies performed by Demon Hunter
Okay, I'm so sick of people not actually looking into the lyrics and really UNDERSTANDING what they're saying. This song is about someone's SINS, and how Jesus died for everything they had done wrong. At first I thought it was about someone hurting someone he loved to, but no. God TOLD me Himself, He showed me in between each and every word, what this song truly means. Yes. I know "well the man still hurt someone he loved, which is Jesus". But it's not about someone hurting any normal mortal, it's about all the sin every single person is guilty of committing, and Jesus is the one who paid for it.
It saying "deepened our graves" means deeping his spiritual grave, and Jesus' actual grave. "So now I reap what I have sown, and any rapture I had shown has bled dry And I walked the streets alone, accepting pain I'd never known, as you died Then I hurt myself to see it too, to feel the knife I put in you My heart as broken as my wings I never should've let it pass, this fall was never meant to last The reason gone and damage stays"
That's saying how the person realizes that his sin (along with everyone else's) is what put Jesus on that cross. And "count the cost of your vile means" pretty much sums it up. It's more like, "look at what you and your sin has done, it's made someone suffer on a cross for YOU, to show how much He loves you".
So, don't say it's not Christian or not about God, when you don't make an effort to understand it. These lyrics are lyrics you have to figure out, make an effort to do so before you go making assumptions that it's not Christian.
So, you go ahead and try to shatter my beliefs, I DARE you and anyone else to make a simple attempt, because MY FAITH, MY RELIGION, MY LOVE FOR GOD will never be shattered or torn or any other word you want to use. And you can also go ahead and call me what you will, but that won't bother me so don't kill yourself trying to make me believe otherwise. God told me what these lyrics mean, and now I'm telling you and anyone else who reads this.
Think before you speak.
And Shanaz, the TRUE Christians and the Jews are the only ones making it to Heaven sweetheart, so if anyone needs to convert their religion it's Muslims and anyone else that's not Christian or Jewish. That's God's Word, the Jews are His chosen people, and the Christians are the followers of His Son's teachings. Those are the only two religions not "burning".

Now this song shows that not all christian music is pop or pop/rock and rap bullshit.
It lyrics actually greatly tells what to do- sing a new sing to Lord, and ask for all the mercy, cuz Ur gonna need that, punk!
I don't agree with bands like this one | Reviewer: Anonymous
------ About the song Undying performed by Demon Hunter
I'm a Christian and I'm big into the Christian music scene but not all of it. Groups like Demon Hunter, Red, Fireflight, Showbread, Children 18:3 are a far cry from "Christians" in my opinion. I know that God truly knows the hearts of each band member and I could be wrong, so very wrong. I once was told I just didn't understand that type of music but I disagree. I use to listen to groups like KoRn, Limp Bizkit, Slipknot and I still listen to 3 songs but Papa Roach to this day. So, I have to say as far as the screaming lyrics I can handle that BUT when it comes to talking about our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, I feel that screaming every single lyric is a little uncalled for. However, as far as the modern Christian music goes you'll only find me listening to Chris Tomlin, Kutless, Rush Of Fools, 33Miles, Above the Golden State, Building 429, Starfield, Sevenglory, Jeremy Camp, Brandon Heath, The Afters, Tenth Avenue North, Tait, Ten Shekel Shirt and etc.

I'm sorry all religious people. I wish i could believe in God, i wish he would save me from my pain or from my sins. But he dosen't, i don't think he will, if he exist, save anyone of us... We're left to our own devices unfortunatly... (my opinion)

Ok so I love this song it's helped me figure out some problems about certain things,
But I also have been reading others posts and I have somethings to say (in all respect lolz)
.. this is a christian song right? Where does it at anything about jesus or god or the holy spirt ?
No Ive ive read the lyrics.. and its about a man who hurt someone he loves, who says we have to make a big fucking deal about relegion ?
Wow yeah, we are here, we have information about all of our relegions that is millions of years old also that information we have is not evolving with the human mind, yeha sure we can make all of our goth "christian" bands to make it look glitzy and shit but it still goes back to the same root .. the loop of relegion. Us humans have to trust in ourselves not some jebas god in the sky that will grant us forty virgins. ahaha
Ive been brought up in a crazy relegius family and thankfully because of my strong mind they didnt penitrate my soal. So yeha if you have anything to say to disprove my comment bring it on. Im ready to shatter your beleifs.

This song is one of those that really gets your emotions working, by the lyrics I mean. It really connects with the way I sometimes feel myself. It makes you wonder, how did they find such perfect words to describe something going on within my soul? I like it a lot.
And chill out guys, the moslem kid couldn't even spell. Lol. I hardly understood his post, so it's hard to even take him seriously.

------ About artist/band Demon Hunter
I hated this type of music....I am a Christian, but my musical tastes were stuck in the Pink Floyd, Beatles. Led Zeppelin...ect age.I didn't like metal at all, but the music I liked had hardly anything uplifting to the words sung by the artists. So I searched the web for Christian rock bands and I stumbled upon, Demon Hunter.I listened to them on Youtube, and I was blown away....I was completly ignorant to the fact that people could sing in a different, unique way as they do and uplift Christ at the same time....Im now a hardcore Demon Hunter fan, and will always be, thanks Demon Hunter for this true inspiration and change of my musical taste for the Lord...!
