I lived that album when it came out in the 70's | Reviewer: Sharon Koenig | 7/6/09
My sister who was 42 when she passed away was a major Elton John fan. The Summer that album came out that is all I heard playing through the house. She had all his albums but that one always left something with me. It was about his early life and how he came through it. I don't remember how many copies Patti bought of that album, but it was close to 11. She also loved the song The yellow brick Road which she wanted played at her graveside. He had a great influence over her life for those days I thank him.

This albumn is terrific. Only one song I would cut. The track "Across the river Thames" should have been included as it is very good. Good lyrics from Bernie and great melodies from Elton. Finally some rock out of the old man. The slower sonds are good this time, not sappy, except for The Bridge.
