------ About the album Friends Soundtrack performed by Elton John

This came out when I was deeply in love with the very first lady of my life and it became our music. Laurie was a beautiful lady and I lost her over the years but I have never forgotten her. For most of my life if she had called me I would have left everything to go to her. Now, if she called me I would still go to her, but she would get an old man who suffers from many regrets.

I feel as if a part of my life is still missing but I do have this music to hold to and help keep the dream alive. Love is alive.

------ About the album Friends Soundtrack performed by Elton John

This is a wonderful album. If I had to pick a soundtrack for my first real love it would have to be Friends. Today if I happen to hear one of the songs from the album/especially Friends/ I am taken back to a magical time. A time when we really knew what love was. A time I will always cherish. Ain't it funny how young lovers start as friends????

------ About the album Reg Dwight's Piano Goes Pop performed by Elton John

I worked at the studio where loads of " cover " versions were recorded in the late ' 60's and early ' 70's.........the girl singer duetting with Elton John on United We Stand was Kay Garner, who later sang backing voclas on Take Me To The pilot etc etc etc...and the singer with Elton on Young Gifted and Black & Good Morning Freedom was Clare Torry who later went on to sing Great Gig in the Sky .................

------ About the album The Captain And The Kid performed by Elton John

My sister who was 42 when she passed away was a major Elton John fan. The Summer that album came out that is all I heard playing through the house. She had all his albums but that one always left something with me. It was about his early life and how he came through it. I don't remember how many copies Patti bought of that album, but it was close to 11. She also loved the song The yellow brick Road which she wanted played at her graveside. He had a great influence over her life for those days I thank him.

------ About the album The Captain And The Kid performed by Elton John

This albumn is terrific. Only one song I would cut. The track "Across the river Thames" should have been included as it is very good. Good lyrics from Bernie and great melodies from Elton. Finally some rock out of the old man. The slower sonds are good this time, not sappy, except for The Bridge.

------ About the album Captain Fantastic And The Brown Dirt Cowboy performed by Elton John

This album is the best effort of Elton John and Bernie Taupin. Lyrically, it's a materpiece. Bernie has taken all of us poets to school. Though he was a genious throughout his entire career, these lyrics are, whether vibrant or dark, are his most visual. Who needs MTV vidoes? Just close your eyes and listen to this album from beginning to end.
Elton is also at his best on this album. The music and the words make the perfect marriage, perhaps the apex of their collaboration.
It's my favorite Elton John album, my favorite album of all time.

------ About the album Friends Soundtrack performed by Elton John

I remember the beginning of the 80's, when i was writing a book, and for some reason this soundtrack kept playing for most of the process. It truly brought me quite a bit of inspiration, as the melodies were beautiful, and also soft and relaxing. Definitely for those who like the style of good old Reg!
