Depending on who's counting, there are anywhere from 100 to
n-frigging-thousand subgenres of rock music a band can
slide into for easy categorization. And depending on where
you drop the laser on Fair to Midland's Serjical Strike
debut, The Drawn and Quartered E.P., at least half of those
subgenres are being reinvented at once. But to call this
Dallas quintet (who, ironically, get their name from an old
Texan play on the term "fair to middling") merely
"eclectic" is to sell them way short. No, Fair to Midland
are masters of fusing those subgenres into something that's
cohesive, intensely focused, and in a bold new category all
its own.

------ About the song The Walls Of Jericho performed by Fair To Midland
Supposedly, the song "Walls of Jericho," is about September 11th and the WTC. I definitely thing that FTM likes to use allusion and allegory in their lyrics. After all, the WTC fell like the Walls of Jericho.

------ About the song Kyla Cries Cologne performed by Fair To Midland
I really like Fair to Midland; their music is refreshing and pretty damn amazing. Honestly, I have heard nothing that compares. What type of genre are they though? And what is the meaning behind their mysterious lyrics?
This is one of the best songs I've heard in a LONG time. It has everything a good song needs! SERIOUSLY. I love it so much, and I am definitely looking forward to more from this band:]

------ About the song The Walls Of Jericho performed by Fair To Midland
Originally introduced to the band through their single, "Dance of the Manatee" I grew strongly intrested as they reminded me of System of a Down. I soon came to come close to my radio for a chance to hear the song and enventually thought that it was more than just pretty voices and a plotheroa of instruments as so many bands out there. When I finally could no longer contain my interest and bought their album I became aware that they didn't have their faces plastered on the inside in a punk/artsy manner as so many bands had in the past when I would be interested. This is all to say that I moved away from liking Dance of the Manatee (which is the first track)and came to love the 8th track: The Walls of Jericho. Within the lyrics above for all to see they didn't post the message between the chorus and the next stanza. I believe it to say, "You reconize your neighbors face" but I don't know for sure because they don't post this missing piece anywhere. What I like about this song is the harmonious singing on the parts,: Another tommorrow. It sounds so sensitive yet strong and therefore makes me think it's talking about something epic. Personally I think it is either an allusion to the bibical story of the Walls of Jericho or some sort of cultral event going on now. In the beginning I thought the song was about a show and it's staff not working well and on the edge of failing. Just really wanted to add that this song deserves a much credit as Dance of the Manatee, though their Lyrics are still mysterious in meaning and in so would prove why not many are drawn to it because the true meaning is probably really lame..I hope not. Page master please edit my comments to some sort of sense
