Hits" on Rhino Records by Stephen K. Peeples)
As dusk enveloped the spectacular vistas of Yosemite Valley
in Yosemite National Park, California, a huge pile of wood
lay stacked at the edge of a high cliff. Nature lovers from
far corners of the world gathered on the valley floor,
waiting till dark when the woodpile was torched and slowly
pushed off the cliff, the burning logs forming a blazing
cascade down the mountain's stony face. The image of the
primitive light show, staged at Yosemite for tourists,
stuck in Florida-born Rick Roberts' mind for a long time.
Then in l973, as he and his new Colorado based band were

------ About artist/band Firefall
I really need to know. Not only is it criminal that Rick never got the individual recognition due him, I need to interview him for my dissertation on studio construction of pastoral spaces, at which Rick was the maestro--witness the career-launching pastoral masterpiece "Colorado." I would deeply appreciate any info anyone offers on how to contact Rick.

------ About artist/band Firefall
I loved the evolution of the sound begun with groups like Buffalo Springfield and The Byrds. The Eagles came out of this amalgam, and this music is all harmony and wonderful magic. I have been impressed with my old buddy Rick since the early 60s, when he penned "Cry Mother Goose and go Home". Rick has always had a voice that was startlingly good, and during his salad days in Washington D.C. we always had a lot of fun, and our singing was the best. Back then, around Dupont Circle, we sang with John Hall, now a Representative, then a leader of "the wad", then leader of Kangaroo, then Orleans, where this super talent had hits. Rick was in awe of John Hall; we all were, along with genius guitarist Teddy Speleos. A crucible to form amazing artists, most of whom are unknown of course. Rick is and was a terrific songwriter..Where is he now?
