Brothers Wulfstan and Athelstan formed Forefather in late
1997 as a project to create epic metal with themes of
Anglo-Saxon history and lore. Recording in their home
studio and releasing the albums on their own label, their
early work can be described as black metal with folk and
atmospheric elements. By the release of their third album,
Engla Tocyme, the majority of the black metal tendencies
had been dropped. This album is one of the best epic metal
albums I've heard, and their recent sigining to Karmageddon
Records may unlock the bands potential for producing a
