Guns N' Roses Lyrics
FORMED: 1985
At a time when pop was dominated by dance music and pop
metal, Guns N' Roses brought raw, ugly rock & roll crashing
back into the charts. They were not nice boys; nice boys
don't play rock & roll. They were ugly, misogynist,
violent; they were also funny, vulnerable, and occasionally
sensitive, as their breakthrough hit "Sweet Child O' Mine"
showed. While Slash and Izzy Stradlin ferociously spit out
dueling guitar riffs worthy of Aerosmith or the Stones, Axl
Rose screeched out his tales of sex, drugs, and apathy in
the More...

Review about Guns N' Roses songs
solo | Reviewer: HC
------ About the song The Garden performed by Guns N' RosesThis solo was actually created by West Arkeen if I remember correctly. Slash admitted later that it was only just before the song was recorded that he was able to play it flawless.
Someone got creative with the last verse... | Reviewer: Anonymous
------ About the song Chinese Democracy performed by Guns N' RosesLike if your ass were your hell you can tell.....wow. At first I thought this was a terrible GnR lyric, but after looking more, it's supposed to be "When their arms reach out for your help" which is much better.
The chorus is kinda iffy though...but I like the song in general
Knockin' On Heaven's Door | Reviewer: Glory Cloud Revelation
------ About the song Knockin' On Heaven's Door performed by Guns N' Roses"Knockin' On Heaven's Door" is a song Bob Dylan wrote about someone who is dying. Intercessory prayer warriors sometimes pick up the thoughts and feelings of the person they are praying for. It is possible that this may be what happened along with the gift of creative writing for this song. Or, it may be that he is wanting someone with a "badge" to know that he's gonna die some day, too, like all of us. Law men risk their lives every day, some of them are good people, some of them are not. Judgment belongs to the Lord.
However, if this man that the song is about is a real person, he must be one of the better ones because after he says, "Mama take this badge from me, I can't use it any more." He says, "I feel like I'm knock, knock, knockin' on Heaven's door." Then, as death is drawing near, it may be that he feels like he has to show the Lord that he is serious about repenting over some of what he may have done with his guns. Why else would he say with his last breaths, "Mama, put these guns in the ground, I can't use them any more." What should it matter to him where those guns are, he can't take them with him when his spirit and soul leaves his body. Or it may be he said that because he knows how dangerous those guns can be. Therefore, being a responsible minded person, he wants to be sure they are put away in a safe place where no one will miss use them. . "That cold black cloud is comin' down". If he's seeing that, it may be the Lord is revealing the other alternative when a person is about to die which is outer darkness forever; instead of in Heaven's glorious LIGHT! The bible says, "And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire". The Lord says in Jeremiah 29:13 ..."ye shall seek Me and find Me when you seek for Me with all of your heart". Getting a vision of darkness when you are dying is enough to make some of the most stubborn hearts surrender to the Lord's mercy and grace which only can be obtained through the Blood of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Saviour. "All those who call upon the name of the Lord, shall be saved!*Romans 10:13
Glory Cloud Revelation concludes that this song is definitely inspirational for those "who have ears to hear, and eyes to see". *Mathew 13:16

------ About the song Knockin' On Heaven's Door performed by Guns N' RosesMay the Lord's blessings of Psalm 41:1-3 always be upon Bob Dylan who has reached out to bless the children with Mark Knopfier's version of 'Knockin' On Heaven's Door'..
All the proceeds went to charities for children and this song reached number l. The children's choir chorus were brothers and sisters of the 16 children who got killed in
a masacre in 1996....See more on You Tubes and hear this sung by them. Open your
heart as you hear them sing, "The Lord is my Shepherd" and you may feel the presence
of His Holy Spirit anointing it, as I did.
Expression sure, but still ignorant nonetheless. | Reviewer: truthhurts
------ About the song One In A Million performed by Guns N' RosesHe is doing NOTHING remarkable but being ignorant. There was NO NEED to use the 'N word unless he truly was/is a racist. The fact that he quickly followed the 'N word with the line "Radicals or Racists Don't point your finger at me" , shows that he knew he crossed the line and like a typical racist was trying to back peddle on his previous lyrics. Even their own guitarist Slash said he felt VERY uncomfortable with that lyric and most likely went alone with it to not ruffle any feathers in the band. But based on the comments on this board, I can see why most of you agree with these lyrics because you have the same ignorant views.

------ About the song Locomotive (Complicity) performed by Guns N' RosesI recently re-discovered after getting out of a really shitty relationship and this song just speaks to me on so many levels..."I've worked too hard for my illusions just to throw them all away" = TRUTH! Say what you will about Axl, but the man is a genius. In fact, the whole Use Your Illusion 2 album is just amazing and along w/UYI 1, the ONLY Guns 'N Roses albums i listen to. Could you imagine if "radio" actually played songs like this and "So Fine"? Granted, i have heard "Civil War" and "You Could Be Mine", but any song on this album (with the exception of "My World" smh)would make people stop dead in their tracks. I will love this song, and this album until i'm six feet under!!

------ About the song Estranged performed by Guns N' Rosesback to 1992 when I was only 17 I could not understand the actual meaning of this lyric. But now about to turn 40 I can say that it surely has something to do with our journey and the way we look at things in life. I´m pretty sure it is the best song of GNR. This song do not belong to GNR ,it has become party of those who needed at any extent because poetry and music belong to those who need them....
From A Fellow Artist... | Reviewer: Allergic To Air
------ About the song Estranged performed by Guns N' RosesThis is a lengthy one, folks, it is a band review as well as a lyrics review.
As a fellow artist and musician, I can say with absolute conviction that my own work has been heavily influenced by the original GNR lineup, particularly Slash, and along with Megadeth, Metallica, Queensryche and other such similar hard-rock/metal bands at the time, they had much to do with my picking up a guitar.
Much has been said about this band and its members over the years. Sorry, folks, but I stand with Slash and Duff. I have seen too many fan videos uploaded that show Axl ATTACKING Slash and wrestling him to the stage floor at live shows for such uncontrollable slip-ups as broken strings. I have also seen videos of him throwing tantrums and having fans expelled from shows for wearing T-shirts that promoted Slash.
Completely unprofessional, and I had to laugh when he inexorably tried to put the blame for the band's controversy on other band members in his appearance on VH1's "That Metal Show". REALLY, Axl? Time and time again you put on the air that you ARE Guns N Roses, yet when controversy arises over the band's material and actions, you point the finger at Duff, at Slash, at Steven Adler, ANYONE but you. Not cool, dude. NOT cool at all. And this new line-up? Sorry, but it just AIN'T Guns N Roses. Metallica has survived without Cliff Burton relatively intact (and I DO mean RELATIVELY in the strictest sense of the word), but as far as I am concerned, Guns N Roses is dead. RIP.
That said, I am actually ashamed to admit that I dismissed "Estranged" as a dud when I first heard it, not caring much at the time for the slow vocal intro. I fell in love with GNR for their rawness, not their romanticism... LOL
Still, this song called to me years later when I had allowed myself to be played like a two-dollar fiddle. I can't remember now how I stumbled onto it. But I recognized it as the song I had never listened to on Use Your Illusion. It now comforted me, and gave me strength to walk away from a situation that I felt would kill me whether I stayed or left. I only wish I had heard it sooner, the strength it has given me might have saved me some heartache.
The music of the original GNR line-up has always had a special place in my heart, for it gave me strength, then and now, but especially "Estranged". It is now my favorite GNR song of ALL TIME. If you've never listened to it, you should, you don't know what you're missing.
Axl and the Queers | Reviewer: Coscia
------ About the song One In A Million performed by Guns N' RosesThe queer agenda was just a minor annoyance in the late 80s. Today, it's out of control and I wish mainstream artists would have the guts to do what Axl did. He's right. They're despicable, dirty, immoral creatures.
I only hope Axl hasn't gotten more PC with age.
