Heaven shall burn were founded in autumn 1996 under the banner of CONSENSE the first demo was recorded about six months later.After some unimportant line-up changes, Erik (b.) and Markus (voc.) joined the band in spring´97 - the second tape was recorded little later. So after a tight line-up was build, the band played a lot of shows and festivals around and worked with high- pressure on their first release. A few weeks later DEEDS OF REVOLUTION REC. decided to put out the first H. S. B. MCD ( in battle...), which was unleashed in autmn´98 and contained a grinding mixture of Death Metal / HC and Thrash Metal. Some weeks after the release of the "In Battle ..." MCD a new guitarist ( Patrick ) joined the band. So the final line-up is: Marcus - vocals Eric - bass More... I heard a song on MTVs headbangers ball and fel in love. It just so happens that there lyrics is amazing to. I speak from expearience because im a poet and they are realy an insperation. The song "The weapon they fear" was of particular interest. The lyrics contained herein are that of meaning and expression that I personally haven't seen in a band in a few years. I have always liked metal music of all breeds but, in the personal opinion, This band created their own seperate genre. They have a unique style to the likes of which can't be duplicated and should not be discounted. Music is expression, and Heaven Shall Burn will Definitely leave their mark. If HSB is one of the greatest bands in that genre? Could be, but this definitely is one of the best songs of this genre. It's so straigt forward and brutal it's awesome! But still it has great riffing and drumming in it. The vocals are great. But the best is probably the lyrics. Where other Metalbands sing about devil and shit like that HSB has this masterpiece of a text for a osng. Just awesome. What it stands for is easy to see, yet stunningly written. Who Victor Jara is you should find out yourself. 10/10 The weapon the fear- Review | Reviewer: lachlan ------ About the song The Weapon They Fear performed by Heaven Shall Burn While this song is not a flagship for originality in what is one of the most overcrowded and overdone genres in metal, it is still a very worthy peice of music. Great aggressive vocals, with some clean vocals in there (if you listen closely) and packed full of awesome riffing and killer double kick drumming. The lyrics to this song are themed similarly to most HSB songs and are quite fitting.
