In 1984, a bunch of students picked up their instruments
and started the Hermes House Band, named after their
student fraternity "Hermes" in Rotterdam, the Netherlands.
What started off as simply "having some fun" soon became
"serious business".
Ten years ago the first album was released. "010 Hallo
Rotterdam" was a big hit for student audiences all over the
Netherlands. The songs were in the Dutch language and had
topics like shower together, little rabbits and naughty
girls. You dig it?
A few years later Hermes House Band hit the big time with
their superior remake of Gloria Gaynor's "I will Survive".
Reaching the number 1 position in the Dutch charts, the
whole country was singing "Lalala" in discotheques,
football stadiums and a variety of other places. More...
If you can email me a clip of the song it would be greatly appreicated.
Thanks
