"i'll be here a while" shows up on 311's 2001 chaos album, while the song they jacked lyrics from was on the 77's self-titled album produced in 1987. way to go hexum & martinez, you've managed to rip-off lyrics from arguably the most genius mind in rock n' roll history, michael roe of the 77's. maybe hexum & martinez are closet michael roe fans- who knows. in any case, give credit where it's due you unoriginal bastards.
