Born: Ian George Brown
D.O.B: 20th February 1963
Birthplace: Warrington, Cheshire
Band member: Vocals
Ian's first band was The Patrol, in which he played bass.
He was the major lyrical influence in the Stone Roses'
earliest work circa Garage Flower, before the classic
Squire / Brown partnership that would yield the 1989 debut
TSR. For all the criticism Ian's voice receives, it has
become one of the most imitated in the years since his
emergence.
He contributed to only 3 songs on Second Coming (Daybreak,
Straight to The Man, Begging You). Ian usually points to
John's excessiveness in the Second Coming years as one of
the main reasons for the group's downfall. However, his own
lethargy in this period contributed just as much. Had John
not come up wit More...

I love the obvious, simplistic poet style of this song. Ian Brown's raw voice doesn't give this song the real justice, that it deserves.

See the title. This is a brilliantly written piece of poetry that will never get the praise it deserves as the author belongs to an anti establishment culture

------ About the song F.E.A.R performed by Ian Brown
I always used to find the question of 'what my favourite song in the world is' an impossible one to answer? F.E.A.R gave me an answer, and for this reason. I love Ian Brown anyway, and I just instantly liked it as a tune - which usually is all that is required from a song. I dont think for a while I even noticed the lyrics. Once you do though, you have a song on a different level. Not only is it a great tune, it is original and as far as I know unique in its construction. A masterpiece!

only ian brown in his nonchalant mancunian can boast big time lyrics as these without sounding pathetic. The unkle remix is similarly mindblowing

2 OF MANCHESTERS GREATEST HEAVY WEIGHTS TEAM UP FOR ONE HUGE MUSICAL KNOCKOUT | Reviewer: MICHAEL BACON
------ About the song Keep What Yer Got performed by Ian Brown
2001 brought us Brown's last release "F.E.A.R" promptly followed by the release of his third solo album, "Music of the sphere's", after a 3 year gap, Brown's back with his freshest creation - "Keep what yer got - by givin it all away" which is his first solo single release from his new anticipated album "Solarize". This time round Brown's teamed up with fellow "Mancunian" and rock n roll legend Noel Gallagher, in typical Brown fashion the tune is slow on the build up and very soothing to the ears, softly spoken hypnotic lyrics with Noels musical genius creating a chilled indie feeling in the back ground, only when the chorus kicks in does the crash of simbles set the tune alive, this is a typical Brown product with the hint of "Stone Roses" influence still noticable in its sound. Noel himself doesnt actualy feature vocaly in this tune, but all the instrumental's are written and performed by the man himself As it would have been interesting to hear the two vocalists together, it doesnt take anything away from the fact that this is one of Brown's best solo efforts to date, the song as a whole is beautifuly put together musicaly and lyricaly, with Brown using politics and religion as his two major subjects to get his tunes point across (and he delivers in typical Brown style).
Bringing Noel into the equation leaves one a little nervous on wether the tunes actualy going to be as good as you exepect. Does it live upto expectation i hear you say ??? OH YES MY FRIEND IT DOES !! a quite brilliant tune which welcomes Ian Browns solo comeback with open arms.
A 100% must have for Ian Brown and Noel Gallagher fans eveywhere
8 1/2 outa 10
