My stepfather and best friend was shot by the police in December of of 2010. He was the greatest person I've ever known. This song is word for word about him and his life. We can all relate to it in some way, but every word is absolutely perfect for him. Right down to the river. Though his river was the Columbia. For years before he was shot, it was one of his favorite songs. God bless the greatest man I have ever known.
