Kittie was founded in 1996 by sisters Mercedes and Morgan Lander when they were barely on the cusp of adolescence. Now at the ages of 21 and 23, they are accomplished musicians, writers and well seasoned veterans of the industry. They were just 15 and 17 years of age when their first C.D., “Spit”, was released on NG/Artemis records. “Spit” was quickly Certified Gold and to date, they have sold well over 1,250,000 units worldwide with 3 Albums and 2 EP’s under their belts. Kittie have toured extensively, played with such notables as Slipknot and Pantera, co-headlined Second Stage at Ozzfest, co-headlined Snowcore, performed on the Conan O’Brien and Later Shows and hosted MTV’s Head Banger’s Ball. I became a fan of KiTTiE in an different way: In fifth grade, I never liked rap or country, which was popular with everyone else. I wanted to be like everyone else cuz I was a loner, no friends at all. Well all fifth graders had a field trip and we were aloud to bring mp3 players...ipods weren't around. My dad, who is also a metal head, gave me a cd with Pantera, Rob Zombie, KoRn, Slipknot(im a MaGGoT 4eva) and KiTTiE..That cd opened up an entire other world for me and changed who i was and am. I was born to love metal and be me instead of those robot chicks that can't think for themselves...ALL CHEERLEADERS DIE!!!! :)lol To this day Brackish is 1 of my favourite songs. When I realized that it was a chic screaming her f'n head off it inspired me to sing similar to her. I thot it was amazing cuz all the other bands are guys.
