After the disbanding of Lush, Emma Anderson went on to form a new group called Sing-Sing with Lisa O'Neill, former collaborator with The Mad Professor and Locust. Sing-Sing put out singles on various labels (including Bella Union which is run by Robin Guthrie and Simon Raymonde, formerly of the Cocteau Twins) but eventually it was Alan McGee (formerly of Creation Records) that released the girls' album in October 2001 on his new label, Poptones.The sound of Sing-Sing is more electronic than Lush - more keyboards and programmed sounds but still with solid tunes and melodies. It's like it was written half-heartedly and they just needed words that would rhyme with eachother. But other than that, it is a song that would get you swaying to the words. The first single of their second CD Spooky, this tune received some moderate airplay in 1990 on some alternative stations. As for the song itself, it's really the first tune where the elements of Lush's sound really come together in a cohesive unit: Miki's singing, Emma's guitar playing, etc. It is both haunting and melodic.
