Matt Nathanson was born at Beth Israel Hospital in Boston, MA on March 28, 1973. Since picking up a guitar at the age of 6, Matt knew he wanted to be a musician. His strong, sincere lyrics and inspired musicianship have led many people to become die-hard fans after only a listen. His charm and sincerity in person, as well as his energetic and often humorous live shows have also endeared many a listener to his unique blend of acoustic folk and rock 'n' roll attitude. Raised in Lexington, MA, he attended Proctor Academy in Andover, NH as a highschooler, and later moved to beautiful Claremont, CA to attend Pitzer College. During high school, Matt was involved in the school's jazz band, and also appeared in the school talent show. While in high school, Matt formed More... I heard his song Come on get Higher and I was so moved by the song that when I got back home I downloaded the music and video from itunes and the rest of the songs from "Some Mad Hope". His lyrics and his performance are just wonderful. I have been a professional musician since I was 15 years old and attended Berklee College of Music from 1975-1979.
