Ride the Lightning | Reviewer: A.J. | 5/10/2005
this is the album that shot metallica's carrer high. there was a big change between kill em'' all and ride the lightning and that change is basiclly everthing. the vocals, gutairs, and even the drums sound differnt and better. this album is definetly a classic in my book

This album is when Metallica's style begins to show through most definitively, but is still untainted by a softening style that is obvious in their later Black and S&M. I'm sure there are those that would disagree, but between Ride the Lightning and Kill em All, Metallica was at its purest, most blackhearted and generally evil (are these not the qualities intrinsic to Metal?) state.
