Verse 1:
Go on and wring my neck
Like when a rag gets wet
A little discipline
For my pet genius
My head is like lettuce
Go on dig your thumbs in
I cannot stop giving in
I'm thirty-something
Bridge:
Sense of security
Like pockets jingling
Midlife crisis
Suck ingenuity
Down through the family tree
Hook:
You're perfect, yes, it's true
But without me you're only you (you're only you)
Your menstruating heart
It ain't bleedin' enough for two
It's a midlife crisis.. It's a midlife crisis..
Verse 2:
What an inheritance
The salt and the kleenex
Morbid self attention
Bending my pinky back
A little discipline
A donor by habit
A little discipline
Rent an opinion
Bridge 2:
Sense of security
Holding blunt instrument
Midlife Crisis
I'm a perfectionist
And perfect is a skinned knee
Hook:
You're perfect, yes, it's true
But without me you're only you (you're only you)
Your menstruating heart
It ain't bleedin' enough for two
yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
It's a midlife crisis...
It's a midlife crisis...
Hook:
You're perfect, yes, it's true
But without me you're only you (you're only you)
Your menstruating heart
It ain't bleedin' enough for two
(repeat and fade)

Review about Midlife Crisis Great memories about this song | Reviewer: subsonikk | 8/20/09
This was a new song when I was 18, and now 17 years later having just turned 35 a few days ago...it hits me harder and has become my anthem of sorts. "Midlife Crisis" was on one of the first 4 CDs I ever bought, so the whole album was awesome for me. I've been re-discovering my love for Faith No More this past week. Awesome 90s band, they're having a reunion tour so catch 'em if you get the chance.
Good morning. The true mystery of the world is the visible, not the invisible.
I am from Kiribati and learning to write in English, give true I wrote the following sentence: "I have a qeustion, how long are you drawing? Ow to draw? More like just speed drawing, but still nice pic."
The first hard rock song I ever liked is Midlife Crisis. Lyrics bring out the very true feelings of midlife, although I'm still far from mine. :-) Excellent lyrics, excellent guitar, excellent voice. Overall an Excellent composition. =C
I absolutely adore this song, just as about everything else Mike Patton does! Whenever he's involved in a project, you just know it can't be bad. My favourite band of his still is and always will be Mr. Bungle, and I'll never give up hoping for a revival. Though I always feel like I'm the only girl listening to this sort of stuff ;p
