NOFX Lyrics

Band History
Here's a great idea, let's get the guy in the band who
smokes the most pot to write a band history. That's me. The
guy who couldn't remember what was said five minutes ago if
his life depended on it. You try and write down the last 16
years of your life and make it seem relevant?

First Practice 1983
Here's what I do remember. I was sitting with a kid named
Dillon in our usual spot with the other punkers during
lunchtime at Fairfax high school. He was a drummer, and we
were dissatisfied with the bands we were in. My band More...

Review about NOFX songs
Song meanings are up for interpretation | Reviewer: Mara
------ About the song Linoleum performed by NOFX

I am singer in a band...and write lyrics. Usually I write stories which mean something.
But I do know people who write lyrics which mean nothing...but seem like they do.
Its possible that this is true of NoFX.
But I think in this case, Linoleum's meaning is not caring about material possessions...and being happy with what you got.
I also think the "that's right I've got a floor" has a double meaning...as in he has a (character) flaw but doesn't care. "So what?"

------ About the song Bob performed by NOFX

About "Will he ever walk the line?" (walking the line is staying sober) you should also check the end of the video clip.

I dont think either it's about cocain, but just about the feeling and the extra anger you have when you undergo the lack of alcohol.

------ About the song Bob performed by NOFX

I don't think Bob does cocaine. Seems to me like he can't drink anymore so he gets kinda angry and goes straight edge and starts goin' to shows so he can take out his anger in the pit.

Reply to Good music, but message is too intolerant | Reviewer: Papa Smurf
------ About the song Leaving Jesusland performed by NOFX

There comes a point when you can't tolerate the intolerance. Most atheists, supporters of GLBT rights, and liberal people don't give a rats ass what you think in general, it's when you encroach on the rights of others that there's a problem. No one is telling you that you can't worship your sky fairy. If you want to do that, you're welcome to do so. You just can't require it by force of law. You can't demand that the government give your space ghost special representation.

Keep in mind, the US is a democratic republic, not straight democracy. Rights of minority groups (be it race, gender, sexual orientation, faith, shoe size, eye color, whatever) are not something that can be trampled based on majority rule.

Reason is being Fancied over faith would be great! Reiligon creats fear, war, intolerance etc. and seriously liberal controlled media you have got to be kidding me. All christains feel like they are bing attacked when they are the ones doing the attacking.

EPIC SONG WITH A GOOD MESSAGE | Reviewer: n0fX
------ About the song Linoleum performed by NOFX

Anarchism... stands for liberation of the human mind from the dominion of religion; the liberation of the human body from the dominion of property; liberation from shackles and restraint of government. It stands for social order based on the free grouping of individuals... i think its more like this... THE LIBERATION OF THE HUMAN BODY FROM DOMINION OF PROPERTY...

One of my Favorite NOFX Songs! | Reviewer: Lauren
------ About the song Pharmacists Daughter performed by NOFX

This is easily one of my favorite NOFX songs. It's so catchy and sounds awesome with its melody and awesome solo and everything. It's definitely one of their best. "Pump Up the Valuum" is a fantastic album; also listen to "Total Bummer;" that's one of their best, too.

Awesome song! NOFX is amazing.

Unique Writing Style | Reviewer: Karin
------ About the song Best God In Show performed by NOFX

Aside from agreeing with the message of this song, I am intrigued by Mike's style of writing. The way he escalates his feelings from detest to abhorrence is very interesting and quite unique. Not the only song Mike has written like this, and I cannot recall any other writer who does this. It would be a dream come true to pick his brain and talk about song writing. I am doubtful I will ever have the privilege to hang out with him and discuss how he goes about writing, but I will put it on my bucket list nonetheless. Keep going Mike, you are giving the likes of Lennon/McCartney a run for their money!

------ About the song Leaving Jesusland performed by NOFX

This is not a political discussion, and it's not a review of other people's reviews. We all know the US is messed right up, and spelling really has nothing to do with how smart you are, for all you know English is these people's second language. In review of the LYRICS, They are for the most part correct, a couple lines don't seem to be right, but NOFX has always been notorious for changing their lyrics around, so I don't think that's the fault of the person who submitted the lyrics.

------ About the song Linoleum performed by NOFX

This song is about, not neccesarily "homless" people, but people who have very little, and are at times going crazy. I think it may be from a young fat mike's point of view, not having very much, but i dont know much about his childhood, so that's just a guess.
