Paperthin Hymn Lyrics

Review The Song (74)Print the Lyrics
When your only friends are hotel rooms
Hands are distant lullabies
If I could turn around I would tonight

These roads never seemed so long
Since your paper heart stopped beating leaving me suddenly alone
Will daybreak ever come?

Who's gonna call on Sunday morning?
Who's gonna drive you home?
I just want one more chance
To put my arms in fragile hands

I thought you said forever
(Over and over)
A sleepless night becomes bitter oblivion

These thoughts run through my head
(Over and over)
Complaints of violins become my only friends

August evenings
Bring solemn warnings
To remember to kiss the ones you love goodnight

You never know what temporal days may bring
Laugh, love, live free and sing
When life is in discord
Praise ye the Lord

Who's gonna call on Sunday morning?
Who's gonna drive you home?
I just want one more chance
To put my arms in fragile hands

I thought you said forever
(Over and over)
This sleepless night becomes bitter oblivion

These thoughts run through my head
(Over and over)
Complaints of violins become my only friends

I thought you said forever
(Over and over)
The sleepless night becomes bitter oblivion

These thoughts run through my head
(Over and over)
Complaints of violins become my only friends

I thought you said forever
(Over and over)

These thoughts run through my head

Review about Paperthin Hymn

to the person that said Speaking Of Twillight | Reviewer: Justin | 1/26/10

Stephen Christianson (lead vocalist of Anberlin) Has been quoted saying that the band is not a christian band, but if their songs bring people to Christianity, then that is cool to. just thought I would point that out
As for this song, it is by far my favorite song by this band. the music is heartfelt, the lyrics are insanely powerful, and the video made me cry at the end. nothing can beat this song when it comes to Music Videos.

Speaking of Twilight | Reviewer: Becky | 12/10/09

How I found this song is very interesting. I was poking aroung on Stephenie Meyer's website after reading her partial draft of 'Midnight Sun' Which is Edward's version of Twilight. This song was on her playlist for "Midnight Sun'. I am not one for Christian music, although I am Christian, but I really like Anerlin. They are not preachy.

beautiful song... | Reviewer: Anonymous | 10/8/09

i heard this song on the radio when it came out, and everytime i was down i would hear the tune and wish i knew what it was called, until this year when i heard it on a random station and got the title and band. that night i had amazing luck. this song to me means alot more than just a song. i hear and feel it within my bones when it comes on. just something about it gives me goosebumps and makes me want to cry...

heart break | Reviewer: Vicky | 9/23/09

this song reminds me of when i messed things up with a great guy whom i've loved very much since the day i met him, i realized my mistake and apologized and everything, but he's moved on, it's kinda hard to deal with right now but there's not a moment in time i don't regret what i did... i pray to God each night to help me forgive myself and move on, and so far i'm doing better each day, i just hope he's happy with the girl he's with right now

I love this song. | Reviewer: Ashleigh | 9/16/09

Agreed with Carla. I read twilight in 2006 before the whole obsession thing. It's not that bad of a book but some people have ruined it. This song sort of reminds me of that. But the film clip hits me harder, since i have someone in my life that'd to everything for me, even risk their life to save mine. It hurts when you lose someone whether it be break up or death. It always hurts, but everyone should know they're not alone and that person or thing they lost will always exist in there heart. Even after death. That's probably where the christian part comes in. You'll be surprised to find a lot of other Anberlin songs aren't very christian either, but they believe in god and you shouldn't diss their songs just because it doesn't have any referance to it.

Great. So sad. | Reviewer: Anonymous | 9/11/09

Great song. I love the "over and over" parts. But the song on the whole reminds me of the fact that I shouldn't be too sad that my face got hit by a ball until my nose bled 100mL of blood, because the boy who hit me would have a heartbreak, while I only have external injury.

I love this song <3 | Reviewer: anonymous | 9/6/09

I absolutely love this song soo much.
"Since your paper heart stopped beating leaving me suddenly alone Will daybreak ever come?
I just want one more chance
To put my arms in fragile hands"
I absolutely love love this song. It's for sure made me cry. It's so heart breaking. Makes you want to appreciate every moment you have,
" August evenings bring solemn warnings to remember to kiss the one's you love goodnight."
I'm truly sorry for the loss you guys have. And for the reasons many of you can relate <3
You're not alone. :]<3

Painfull | Reviewer: Tim | 7/17/09

love this song.
"I just want one more chance
To put my arms in fragile hands"
these lines i hold dear at this time in my life because so much pain in ones life all you need is someone more than a friend........ a friend (or people who i have met would have over reacted and im scared to try it again)they said bbf but it was a beautiful lie that would kill me later on. in need of someone someone who will not think wrong about finding comfort somewhere in someones heart or to find a great girlfriend. LOve the song just love it.

So painful | Reviewer: Steve | 5/31/09

This song is painful for me to listen to. I just made a few huge mistakes in my life. I got rid of a great girl, pushed a lot of friends away, and now i'm depressed. This song reminds me of all the mistakes i have made, not just recently, but through my whole life. Even if they aren't a christian band, the message in this song is easy to see.

the bitter sting of losing | Reviewer: Venus in Faux Furs | 5/7/09

It is about loss. Whether it is due to a leaving, a break up, or a death (which is obviously the most permanent and infinitely more devastating than any other loss. I didn't really get much of a christian vibe from this song which in my eyes would have, as the saying goes, ruined a good thing.
