Rage Against The Machine Lyrics

"We've got to regain knowledge again, and we've got to
regain an understanding again, of who we are. Not just
those chosen to fuel systems, but individuals who have the
power to criticize and analyze, and attack injustice when
it becomes prevalent and apparent in front of our faces
like it is in ours right now. We've been all put to sleep.
Put to sleep to a system. A system that continues to
perpetrate ignorance amongst our spirits and amongst our
minds. One that wants you not to act. A system that would
rather see all of you at that More...

------ About the song NO SHELTER performed by Rage Against The Machine

Morello is such a hypocritical douchebag. How much of his millions (yeah, he's a One Percenter) has he given to the poor? Probably less than Romney has given? Rage is just another group of plastic "revolutionaries" who try to stir up others because they're too scared to fight their own battles and will just end up creating a bigger, stronger, more intrusive government in order to force their version of "Utopia" down our throats. He's a mindless tool.

All I want to say is that I am so glad that this group pointed out who really shot Malcolm X and that to this day people believe the lies that Farrakhan and the Nation of Islam did it. People don't know that days before his death, Malcolm apologized to the Elijah Muhahamd and The NOI and requested to be a member again. Minister Farrakhan and the NOI loved Malcolm and are very close to his family to this day.

So for a group of white guys who spoke the truth about this is amazing and extremely brave because the CIA don't want celebrities and people of great influence to talk about this.

------ About the song Bullet In The Head performed by Rage Against The Machine

"A yellow ribbon instead of a swastika"
It's not about Nazis.
It's about comparing the US military (the population) to the Nazis.
Yellow ribbon = support our troops.
A brainwashing technique to quash all descent.
Don't talk negatively about our terror-wars, "think of the troops" (instead of think of the children which is another typical line to suppress freedoms).

Fascism has been woven into the fabric of US history.
Ever heard of the McCormack-Dickstein Committee?

Educate yourself.

------ About the song Bullet In The Head performed by Rage Against The Machine

This is about mind control being like a bullet in the head, and the lies told are often a complete inversion of the truth (like Orwell's Doublethink and Newspeak). 'Said it was Blue (Democrats, Royalty, and in other countries the conservative political parties are represented using this colour) but the blood was Red' (Red being communist/marxist/socialist - or in the weird USA, Republican, ~conservative), not sure what that's talking about, perhaps responsibility for who committed certain acts of violence (Reichstag Fire, any other false-flag operations blamed on communists or other scapegoats).
It's also comparing gangs in LA (Crips/'Blue' and Bloods/'Red', 'when the set commands ya') to the 'gangs' running politics, and running the world. It's saying there's no difference between blindly following the street orders of a 'set' (gang) with all the brutality and ignorance that goes on there, and following the orders from your TV!
It's saying the TV/media propaganda isn't 'proper' (i.e. it's indecent). Of course if it's like a bullet in the head, it's not good at all!
This is a pro-freedom-of-thought song, not a pro-communist song or anything more controversial like that.
It's anti-blind-nationalism. It's anti-lying. The song uses the strong metaphor of a bullet and gangs and such as a device to try to connect with the youth of LA and worldwide, I suppose.
It did for me. Even then, it's taken me a couple of decades to realise exactly what they were talking about, since I had to educate myself on the subject, neither school nor the TV did that, obviously! Hence RATM's, er, rage at this state of affairs.
When I hear this song and feel Zack's intelligent, precision anger, I feel like I have a friend who gets it. Then again, I've been listening to this since 1993, so maybe it programmed my thinking, haha! Always question, and anything that doesn't stand-up to reason, discard and work with what's left - if anything.

Also, it's not about Nazism, so much as ASHKENazism, hence the comparison of a yellow ribbon with a Swastika, perhaps? Except it wasn't a yellow ribbon, but a yellow star of David, so that doesn't add-up!
Can someone explain what a Yellow Ribbon represents to those of us who don't get the reference?
Support for US troops - with the implication that said support is like Nazism, due to US aggressive and neo-colonialist foreign policy? Then the people at home support it via that TV-derived mind-control (similar to Nazi propaganda and mind-control?)
That sounds about right.

My opinion on the meaning | Reviewer: Vael
------ About the song Bullet In The Head performed by Rage Against The Machine

In my opinion this song talks about the hollocaust and Nazism.
Juding by the lines: "Yellow Ribbon instead of a swatstika" (Yellow ribbon are the ribbon the nazis putted on every jew.)
"Sleeping gas, every home was like Alcatrez" (Sleeping gas: the gas that they used to kill jewis people.)
"Said it was blue, when the blood was red" (Nazis trying to justify killing of innocent people. Blue blood often points towards royalty.)
"Nothing profitable about your propaganda" (You get nothing from doing those actions)
"Fools follow rules when the set commands you" (Nazis blindly following Hitler's belifes and commands.)
"Play it again jack and then rewind the tape" (The Nazis filmed short movies of a football league in the Ghetto to show that there is only happiness there, which was a total lie, you could see the place where they burned the bodies in the movie.)
"Standing in line, beliving the lies, bowing down to the flag" (Nazi soilders standing in line Hailing to Hitler, beliving his lies and brain was, bowing down to the swatstika.)

Thats my opinion of the song =]

You bitch and complain about the American government and it's 'corruption'. Not everything in the fucking world is a conspiracy. Honestly, I don't see the country going down the wrong path, I see the people going down the wrong path. The government isn't out to get you. Maybe if you quit doping and finally moved out of your parents basement, you'd realize that. And F.Y.I, Anarchy is bull shit.

------ About the song Calm Like a Bomb performed by Rage Against The Machine

It seems the band was becoming the machine. That is what perpetuated their ability to continue the message. Who doesn't like defying authority? For me it is just a reminder to be true to yourself, Many of Zachs assumptions were very inaccurate and became a product to be sold.

Pumped up and jacked were you there just to attack or conform or to be there to get kicked out or to then end up just like them when we cant just except that things are just the way they arent then we begin to be able in a preamble to interpret how wrong we were to ever think we could portrait seriously that man in to kill a mockingbird who was really already dead and put him up and break his arm again the injustice of the suffering a loss

------ About the song Darkness Of Greed performed by Rage Against The Machine

When we were lost and others from other places we walked and if we were silent and so slowly crossed the muddy fields again and over we were able to witness how those lost souls get shot, and if wew were ready we were able to share a thought like the shifting feet or the plan to one day still be friends and have in us not our backs up against the walls but getting to cross the street our muddy minds thought of better days when we rose
