Rage Against The Machine Lyrics

"We've got to regain knowledge again, and we've got to
regain an understanding again, of who we are. Not just
those chosen to fuel systems, but individuals who have the
power to criticize and analyze, and attack injustice when
it becomes prevalent and apparent in front of our faces
like it is in ours right now. We've been all put to sleep.
Put to sleep to a system. A system that continues to
perpetrate ignorance amongst our spirits and amongst our
minds. One that wants you not to act. A system that would
rather see all of you at that More...

Review about Rage Against The Machine songs
My opinion on the meaning | Reviewer: Vael
------ About the song Bullet In The Head performed by Rage Against The Machine

In my opinion this song talks about the hollocaust and Nazism.
Juding by the lines: "Yellow Ribbon instead of a swatstika" (Yellow ribbon are the ribbon the nazis putted on every jew.)
"Sleeping gas, every home was like Alcatrez" (Sleeping gas: the gas that they used to kill jewis people.)
"Said it was blue, when the blood was red" (Nazis trying to justify killing of innocent people. Blue blood often points towards royalty.)
"Nothing profitable about your propaganda" (You get nothing from doing those actions)
"Fools follow rules when the set commands you" (Nazis blindly following Hitler's belifes and commands.)
"Play it again jack and then rewind the tape" (The Nazis filmed short movies of a football league in the Ghetto to show that there is only happiness there, which was a total lie, you could see the place where they burned the bodies in the movie.)
"Standing in line, beliving the lies, bowing down to the flag" (Nazi soilders standing in line Hailing to Hitler, beliving his lies and brain was, bowing down to the swatstika.)

Thats my opinion of the song =]

------ About the song Killing In The Name performed by Rage Against The Machine

You bitch and complain about the American government and it's 'corruption'. Not everything in the fucking world is a conspiracy. Honestly, I don't see the country going down the wrong path, I see the people going down the wrong path. The government isn't out to get you. Maybe if you quit doping and finally moved out of your parents basement, you'd realize that. And F.Y.I, Anarchy is bull shit.

Rage On Again | Reviewer: Anonymous
------ About the song Calm Like a Bomb performed by Rage Against The Machine

It seems the band was becoming the machine. That is what perpetuated their ability to continue the message. Who doesn't like defying authority? For me it is just a reminder to be true to yourself, Many of Zachs assumptions were very inaccurate and became a product to be sold.
Don't let some pinhead boss control you. I didn't.

------ About the song Township Rebellion performed by Rage Against The Machine

Pumped up and jacked were you there just to attack or conform or to be there to get kicked out or to then end up just like them when we cant just except that things are just the way they arent then we begin to be able in a preamble to interpret how wrong we were to ever think we could portrait seriously that man in to kill a mockingbird who was really already dead and put him up and break his arm again the injustice of the suffering a loss

Crossing a muddy field | Reviewer: Jason Cowin
------ About the song Darkness Of Greed performed by Rage Against The Machine

When we were lost and others from other places we walked and if we were silent and so slowly crossed the muddy fields again and over we were able to witness how those lost souls get shot, and if wew were ready we were able to share a thought like the shifting feet or the plan to one day still be friends and have in us not our backs up against the walls but getting to cross the street our muddy minds thought of better days when we rose

------ About the song Bulls On Parade performed by Rage Against The Machine

Bulls on Parade is somewhat a good song around the town. It's heavy as metal is but It's better to just find out what the song would be about. However, Go on youtube and watch the video on your supercomputer If you have one.

------ About the song Know Your Enemy performed by Rage Against The Machine

I remember when they first came out. I thought they had rage issues. The only news footage I saw of them was about their anger. Years later came the internet. I looked up the lyrics and was blown away by what I was reading. True poetry. So few words that mean SO much. Pure genius. I am better person to have read their words.

humble opinion | Reviewer: Anonymous
------ About the song Take The Power Back performed by Rage Against The Machine

It is so easy to judge what is not really known. I do believe we must use our freedoms before we lose them. Most people talk so much trash about the country without really doing anything about it. If you want to rant and rave about how bad it is please change it as I plan to. I am an American Soldier. I am a warrior and a member of a team. I serve the people of the United States and live the Army Values. I will always place the mission first. I will never quit. I will never accept defeat. I will never leave a fallen comrade. I am disciplined, physically and mentally tough, trained and proficient in my warrior tasks and drills. I always maintain my arms, my equipment and myself. I am an expert and I am a professional. I stand ready to deploy, engage, and destroy the enemies of the United States in close combat. I am a guardian of freedom and the American way of life. I am an American soldier. for those that say you hate the flag so much, you tell me you hate me too. Zac De La Rocha is a very inspirational person to me and actually did something with his life, music, and influence to better the lives of others. Will you so crassly judge and not take action? You sleep in the bed you make, as a country that means all of us together. So learn, take action, and take the power back.

Propaganda | Reviewer: Some guy
------ About the song Testify performed by Rage Against The Machine

The song delves into media propaganda, how both conservative and liberal media may sway either way to support politics, but in a broader sense they both lean the same way to obscure our view of other countries and our own. The music video however depicts both bush and gore to be one in the same. Many refferences to oil, control of information, and operation desert storm, NOT the war on terror. This song was written before 9/11.

How are they hypocrites? | Reviewer: Mike D.
------ About the song Wake Up performed by Rage Against The Machine

If they were hypocrites they never would have broken up. Zack didn't want to make albums any faster than 4 years apart. When they released two in roughly an 18 month period, he quit. That my friends, is not capitalism. Or maybe its proof that Zack isn't a hypocrite, and maybe you think the rest of the band was.
