Trying to put a universal spin on very personal feelings and beliefs is at the core of great songwriting. Relient K is a potent young band that has captured those elusive elements on its brilliant Gotee Records debut. The four members hail from Canton, Ohio ("the home of the Pro Football Hall of Fame!" Catholocism is one branch of Christianity. Anyone who says that they are Catholic, but not Christian is mistaken. One can be Christian without being Catholic, but the reverse is not possible. Soem Catholics may wish to separate themselves from other Christians (ie. Protestants), but this does not make them not Christians. Instead, the claim might more accurately be described as being the only "true" Christians. This is all theoretical to me, but it is a great pet peeve of mine. But I wasn't really listening to the words, i thought it had a nice tune and cool rhymes. So I put it in one of my play lists in iTunes that I just put on in the background. But just recently I went on a long country road trip. I was listening to my iPod, and this song came on, and so I listened to it, to the words and it meant something. I played it quite a number of times through, and every single time I played it I got something new from it. Especially the bit where he asks for forgiveness, and then at the very end about the Way Truth and Life, and He is love! I never thought that an eleven minute song could be so good! Lol I love God!
