I will go so far as to say that my father was probably as much a racist as Hitler was, but he didn't stand for such a blatant proclomation as Hitler did. I'm sure my father sat with his friends in social occasions and told "nigger" jokes, "kike" jokes, et al...but he DID fight the Germans and they DID defeat the racist asshole and they DID free the jewish people from the hell they had to endure. Did all the Jewish population make it out alive? No. Did the African Americans have a role in WWII? Yes, a small one, but none the less, they did have a role. PBS and other Media Corporations are quick to point out what a role they (African Americans) did have in the "Big One". Yes, our society was racist, just as Hitler was racist. The American Government was not a predominantly African American Government then, so it only stands to reason that as Irish Americans, German Americans, Polish Americans, Italian Americans, Swedish Americans, British Americans, Spanish Americans, African Americans, and so on, and so on, and so on...they all fought the racist regime and they, as a whole, defeated the threat. As Obama aptly opined at the Democratic Convention that brought him in to the Political Arena, the "Speech" that made him a force to be reckoned with, he stated: "There is no African American, no White, no Brown, no Yellow American...there is only the "American". Did the African American suffer when they were sold by their own brothren to the "White Devils" of America? Yes. Did the Irish American suffer when they came to the "Land of Opportunity"? Yes. Did the German American suffer when they came to the "Great Hope" of America? Yes. The Italian American? Yes. The Polish? Yes. The British, escaping Great Britain's religious persecution? Yes. Now, the Mexicans. Must be their turn, as at one time or another, it has been all of our turns. Like it or not, it's the history of our existence and it will more than likely never change. Lord how we feard the Japanese in the '80's, thinking they were going to take over our country financially. The Iranian President is being compared to Hitler due to his absolute hatred of the Jewish State. Are African Americans up in arms about this? Do they denounce the Iranian Government, but not the Iranian people? Are African Americans "behind" the American governments desire to rid the world of Terrorist groups that wish only to destroy America? America, the same country you share with the rest of us "racist pigs"? America, the land of the free, home of the brave. The country that you live in? You complain a lot about how terrible a country we are, but you are here, you share the same freedom, the same rights, the same opportunity. Do you care that we are being threatened by a force that could conceivably destroy all of us? Is your selfishness so integral that you can not understand how desperate we as a society need to bond together now as no time ever in the history of our country as never before? Enough of this bickering, enough of this seperatism...we are in trouble and we need to be as one if we are ever going to survive. We don't have to agree 100% with each other at all times, but this is one time when we must all agree to "let go" of the past and now start working together for our childrens future(s).
