Situations Lyrics
Artist(Band):Jack Johnson
Review The Song (6)Print the Lyrics
Situation number one:
It's the one that's just begun,
But evidently it's too late.
Situation number two:
It's the only chance for you;
It's controlled by denizens of hate.
Situation number three:
It's the one that no one sees;
It's all too often dismissed as fate.
Situation number four:
The one that left you wanting more,
It tantalized you with its bait.

Review about Situations

my interpretation... | Reviewer: Anonymous | 7/9/09

I think it is about an argument and the different levels that the argument is on. Level (or situation) # 1 is what causes the fight; something silly usually, the straw that broke the camels back. Level 2 is what the deeper meaning is of the fight what you are really arguing over, but this is precarious because it's easily overrun with passion and hate; easy to say things you regret. Level 3 is the effect this has on the friendship/relationship. We always say it was meant to be, but it was really how you handeled level 2 that gets you there. And level 4 is regret you feel after breaking up or fighting in an argument. Feeling bad for having said what you did.

Very interesting song either way.

Obsessions | Reviewer: kepar 1001 | 4/2/08

I think situation no.4 is about things you obsessed with...
It will kept you wanting more and more, regardless of whether it's good or not. But I think Jack is referring to bad things (It tantalized you with it's bait).

it's more involved | Reviewer: Anonymous | 12/9/07

I don't think this song is only about relationships. It can absolutely be applied to that, but the amazing thing about this song is that you can really apply it to anything in your life.

For example, I always connected number two to getting into graduate school, or something challenging like that. I can apply each of the situations to something personally affecting me at the time.

i think it's about... | Reviewer: Anonymous | 8/11/07

what one of the reviews said earlier about relationships...but i think Sit. #3 is like a girl that you might have had a chance with, but you never took that chance and went after her, so it never happened.

what its about? | Reviewer: Anonymous | 7/19/07

i think its about potential relationships...#1 was doomed from the start...#2 is a girl you might actually like, but has a bad name or poor status or your friends hate her...#3 is the girl who is your best friend but would make a great couple with you but is dismissed because she's the best friend...#4 is the one you always find yourself going back to and pining for, even though you always end up heartbroken/disappointed

What situations? | Reviewer: Anonymous | 7/10/07

does anyone have any idea what the four situations could possibly be?
