The Beginning...
Slayer came to life in the LA. Surburb of "the Huntington

Huntington Hooligans". The band was started by Kerry King,
a guitarist who was looking for other muscians to start a
band. Prior to that, he had been in another band, with Tom
Araya. Kerry discovered Jeff Hanneman, another guitarist,
who was very interested in the punk movement that was going
on at the time. Later the two teamed up with a very skilled
drummer by the name of More...

Thank you Slayer, from the depths of my soul and chambers of my heart ! Like the anonymous reviewer before this,I am a bit older but I TOTALLY appreciate the sentiment & aggression in this song....wish I'd had it when I was 18! Metallica were there for me then but Kerry king reaches some cavernous dark caves of the soul here that perhaps no-one else could.\m/ \m/ so again, thank you Slayer & R.I.P Jeff

One of my personal favorite and the best song by Slayer..better than any track of their preceding albums...The intro will definitely make non-metalhead shit their pants..and the lyrics are so beautiful and deep...Hail Slayer...!!!\m/

------ About the song Epidemic performed by Slayer

this song is so awesome. In a way it's almost poetic, saying

"Pulmonary overthrow
Possession of your inner throne"

they mean to say that a terrible disease is overthrowing and infecting the inside of your body. I can't get this song outta my head and it is just sick as hell. You could say it has been "Left in charge to dominate" my brain. Jeez................ fuckin Slayer man......there just great........

If these lyrics were more coherent, this song would be a classic... | Reviewer: Troy
------ About the song Gemini performed by Slayer

although in fairness to Araya and King, who co-wrote this song, the Zodiac killer's letters to the press and police weren't very coherent. Slayer, to their credit, habitually ties occult, cult, and orthodox religion together in ways that slip under the radar of critics. This song's title is a direct reference to the serial killer in William Peter Blatty's sequel to The Exorcist, Legion, which is in itself a reference to the infamous unsolved Zodiac murders in San Francisco.

The genealogy of metal like this ought to be obvious; it harkens back to Black Sabbath. And it should come as no surprise, Geezer Butler and Tom Araya are both Catholics. And now for the total irony, King and Butler have now been the official constants in the evolution of Slayer. Slayer is concerned with the problem of evil, and in my opinion this song is one of the best musical reflections on the serial killer.

The lyrics reflect the ideology, intent, and derangement of the Zodiac and the Gemini killers in a way that makes me cringe, and that was probably what Araya and King intended. Evil is a part of life, Slayer describes in way that aren't always successful, with notable exceptions such as this track. Art reflects life.

------ About the song Raining Blood performed by Slayer

this morning i don't remember getting out of bed i only remember shivering in the hall and in the bathroom i couldn't think straight espiacially with the time and what i had to do.by the way i'm 12 and had to get ready for school and the bus gets here at 6:50-6:51 A.M.i was thinking about metallica and slayer and the song raing blood for no reason.i think i fell asleep on the bus.i haven't heard much from slayer.i took either my dad or uncle's slayer tape.i think it was south of heaven or something like tha.i liked it but i only heard the whole tape once.wierd thing is i like megadeth more than metallica or slayer but didn't think about them.one of the reasons i wanted to listen to slayer was because in the music video for peace sells by megadeth the kid had a slayer shirt on and i only heard about them and never seen the name written in their own way, like KISS has the S's that look somewhat like lightning bolts.also in the video i think one of the band members had a twilight zone shirt, which is probably my favorite show.i am not a normal 12 year old girl.as i'm doing my homework i am listening/kind of watching sonisphere festival 2011 on vh1 classic.

Dammit Brian | Reviewer: Kalos
------ About the song Disciple performed by Slayer

Please don't bring religion into music Brian. Just because something sounds non-friendly to Christ, that's not satanism. Honestly, I see that the lyrics state that we are going to screw ourselves and we are doing it each day. Apart from the guy yelling out god hates us all, there's no real evidence of the song being satanic. I'm not saying your in the wrong nor am I saying your in the right. You just got to learn to tolerate others. I don't really listen to much slayer. Hell, this is really the only song I listen to by them. You can link it to satanism, but it's not that way to me

Where it started | Reviewer: Shahir
------ About the song Aggressive Perfector performed by Slayer

This is Slayer's first song! Like Metallica's first song, Hit The Lights, they sound pretty similar especially in the intro. Very NWOBHM influenced (and I bet they heard 'tallica crack HTL out, which made Slayer go in that direction)
