------ About the album Slipknot performed by Slipknot

I am a 12 year old guitar player and I play songs off this album constantly! Let me explain:

(sic): EPIC!! They're only getting started, though.
Eyeless: My first Slipknot song! Awesome breakdown at the end.
Wait & Bleed: Popular Slipknot song, eh? Still, it's an awesome song, and it shows how they can still be vocally melodic.
Surfacing: If you are suicidal, listen to this. You will feel better. (I'm not.)
Spit it out: The hate FUELS! I know a guy like this. This song introduced rap metal to ALL MAGGOTS!
Tattered & Torn: Another emotional song. With a whammy pedal up an octave, the guitars to this song are creepy, in a good way!
Me Inside: More, but limited, vocal melodies. Great samples were used here.
Liberate: Complicated song to learn, especially at the bridge. The timing is weird. Pretty good song!
Prosthetics: A lot of depth in this song. You literally hear almost everybody in the band at once in the intro. But it speeds up! The vocals seem to have a flange in the verses. COOL
    No Life: Another rap. Awesome.
Diluted: Seems like a lot of samples were used here. Slipknot uses weird samples/media, which only supports their awesomeness.
Only One: A Mate. Feed. Kill. Repeat original. The rapping is awesome, with, again, weird sampling/media.
Scissors: EPIC!! This downtuned monster of a song creeps up on you as you sleep! F#. Wow.
Eyeore (hidden track): A wild song about a death threat.Cool

    That's all. 5 STARS!

Well i was just chillen on the bus, all day at school was hectic, and depressing, i was hating the world at the moment and my friend says, "hey, have you heard slipknot before? " i reply "no, who are they? " he puts on Heretic Anthem, and BOOM it was OVER! completely transformed me into a maggot, but now im part of the Cattle herd for JFAC, and Cattle Decapitation!

I have to say that when I first heard this album I was shocked. But being from Iowa and hanging with the guys I loved it. It's by far one of the greatest albums they have put out. Number 2 on my list of favorite Slipknot cd's, number 1 of course is Iowa.

------ About the album All Hope Is Gone performed by Slipknot

All Hope Is Gone is the most radical, surprising album that Slipknot has released or ever could release. If you've seen other posts on this site from me you'd know that I initially didn't like it. Once I got past the sheer shock of the whole thing, it became clear to me how great an album this is. That which is new and surprising is what makes All Hope Is Gone a great album- the longer, extended tracks and the greater use of melody, the most striking being the Tool-like melody in Dead Memories. They just wrote so differently this time around- unusual song structure, longer songs, and greater speed. I never would have expected Slipknot to write songs with a swinging groove and melodic chorus like Psychosocial, an intro reminiscant of Enter Sandman on Dead Memories, or a straight-ahead hard rock song like Vendetta. And of course there is Snuff, though that may be the song that feels a bit too out of context for Slipknot. But you have to give Slipknot credit for trying, because the experiments work more often than not. Getting all 9 guys to write material was very beneficial to this album, and I have to give props to Corey Taylor for putting to rest his cliqued and tired rantings of anger and desolation and writing lyrics about the futile state of our nation. Overall, All Hope Is Gone proves that Slipknot is beyond the trappings of nu metal and are in fact a highly creative bunch of headbangers. All Hope Is Gone stands to be Slipknot's best effort, and should they hang it up soon, they will have gone out on the top of their game, completely destroying the expectations we once had of them.

Slipknot is by far THE BEST metal band around. After they got rid of their shit singer Anders, Who can't sing at all and sounds really depressed in all the songs, and got Corey Taylor to sing for them I think they are excellent now. Corey really helped the band a lot and changed them into the AWESOME band they are today. You'd have to be a fool to not like them. I haven't heard much of the M.F.K.R album but there aren't many good songs on it, I only like Gently and Confessions. I really want Slipknot to come to New Zealand and kick our ASS. stay (sic) all you Slipknot fans.
