This has been our song for many years and still gets to us after nearly 41 years married we both love Zeppelin and it was a pleasant surprise for us a couple of years ago when our son married the love of his life and played it at the service as their song, not knowing it was ours as well

When i first wrote my ode to my eternal,immortal beloved, i really held back out of fear and the abyss of pain i struggle with daily. I loved my guy from the first time i laid eyes on him, the connection was instant, otherwordly and truly beyond words. When we couldnt be together physically we spent every night on the phone until we fell asleep...he always played this ong for me and told me no matter what,life or death we would always be together. I left the country for a year, and he begged me not to go,writing me a poem that said "if you go i will surely die", it broke my heart to go but i had to. A month after leaving he was killed, and i have never been in a darker place,why did i go? I will have to live with this my whole life.My only solace is that death cannot keep us apart, as the song and he said to me, we will be together again. Baby, i will be there soon, and i dream of you always...THANK YOU for giving me a love i never new could be so true, so powerful, and so ever everlasting. I will love you forever.

My wife and i did our first dance at our wedding to thank you. Our intoned for each other is thank you. We always said we were only getting married once, we would work thru anything to stay married. I just found my birth father. I am 51 and he is 74. My birth mother never told him about the pregnancy - he only heard about it from a friend. That was 1961 and he didn't know more until I found him a week ago. As an adoptee, finding my father feels like a miracle. I had a huge place in my heart reserved for him and now it is filled. He is my happy ending and I will be meeting him soon. I am dedicating this song to him.

My wife and I have loved this song since our beginning in 1973. We asked a friend of ours to learn the song and play it at our wedding in 1974. (Remember there wasn't an internet then so Sam had to learn it the old fashioned way.) When word got out that we were going to play Led Zeppelin at our wedding all our friends were pumped thinking a Stairway to Heaven jam fest! They were blown away when Sam played the acoustic and my wife and I recited the verses back & forth. We've been together 38 years and today we listen to Thank You as if it were 1974. I have to admit I never thought about this song in any other way, until I read some reviews here. Love and peace to us all!

My sister was a huge Zep fan. She committed suicide 3 years ago. We played Stairway to Heaven at her funeral as she had requested from the time she was a child. She left me a very angry hurtful last letter. I decided to bury it at her gravesite so I wouldn't be tortured by reading it over and over. I figured she wasn't in her right mind when she wrote it and was finally at peace. As I left the cemetary this song came on the radio. I took it as a sign from her that I did the right thing and she was over her anger and was peaceful and loving. This song is very special to me.

As a hard core Led Zeppelin Fan it was easy for me to like this song . "Thank You" was written by Robert for his wife Maureen, so it was only fitting that this was played as the first dance song at my wedding to my Lisa. So many of the lyrics have related to events in our life. This song still can bring a tear to her eye or can make her smile. .."Our love is strong, with you there is no wrong" Love you Lisa :)

From 16 to 37 this song has never lost an iota oh its phenomenal emotional impact for me...its timeless. I was MAD for a guy who usedto play this for me and call it our song. While I was abroad he died vry suddenly and without warning. I will always love him, and this song reminds me that be once loved me too.
