THE BLACKOUT PACT LYRICS

  Lyrics - The Blackout Pact Lyrics

 :: Biography
 :: Albums

Once upon a time (that time being 2003), five boys from the
Denver area got into a van and trekked cross-country to New
York City, land of too-good-to-be-true record deals. Though
they were arrested, impoverished, and desperate, the boys
-- who dubbed themselves the Blackout Pact -- prevailed,
plucked from the gutter (or, in this case, an East Village
hot dog shop) by a guardian angel that chose the earthly
form of Thursday singer Geoff Rickly. Armed with record
deal on Rickly's Astromagnetics, TBOP set out to write a
debut album, Hello Sailor, in a practice space in New
Jersey that doubled as their home during the writing
process.

The resulting 10-song set, produced by Rickly, is raw and
visceral, a reminder that sometimes, upon rare and wondrous
occasion, ban More...

    Review about The Blackout Pact

    The Blackout - Maybe one of the best things that ever happened to me... | Reviewer: jebus_webus@msn.com
        ------ About the song The Beijing Cocktail performed by The Blackout Pact

    ok, before i heard these guys i was in a bad place. i couldn't concentrate on anything, i just wanted to find a way out of what ever this was. then one of my friends emailed me this single. as soon as i heard it i downloaded it. i thought it was totally awesome. end of my crisis, right? wrong. i then sunk into a spiral of depression listening to their songs on replay. i was constantly crying, thinking that i would never live up to anything as good as them. i would never get to meet anyone as amazing as them, and i would never mean as much to them as they meant to me. then i realized. i had to stop, it was stupid. i was thinking of slitting my wrists at the touch of a knife, and i may well have done it, if not for the horror of never being able to hear their music again. So, what is the point of this meaningless ramble? the blackout are great, you should check them out, but don't become obsessed. Don't start believing that impossible things could happen, or that your dream world is better than your real one. Im still not fully over them. (note i put my email addy in case they see it and decide to email me, and in writing this i realize how sad i really am) i still have their my space as my home page, and i still listen to their album, but i have to learn to stop dreaming that one day i could ever have something half as good as what theyve got. no one can.
