Dies irae solvet saeclum in favilla.
Mors stupebit cum resurget creatura.
Requiem aeternam dona eis,
Et lux perpetua luceat eis
Exaudi orationem meam.
(A day of wrath will dissolve the world into glowing ashes.
Death shall be amazed when creation rises again.
Give them eternal rest,
And let perpetual light shine on them;
O hear my prayers.)
Requiem aeternam... requiem
Requiem et lux perpetua luceat eis
Dona eis requiem
(Eternal rest...rest
And let perpetual light shine on them
Grant them rest)

Review about The Denouement Latin is a go! | Reviewer: Casey | 7/30/09
I agree. The Latin just highlights the dark themes while also playing with the irony of it being in church but talking about... Not church. It is really easy to sin and it sounds beautiful. Ever heard of Ave Maria? Sounds really pretty, right? But it's just a hail Mary. Latin is great to sing, and this dog sounds gorgeous.
Beautiful | Reviewer: Andrew | 2/21/09
Well I think its an in-genius take on singing. :D
I nearly pitched a fit, when I heard 'Dies Irae' which incidentally happens to be one of the most famous of liturgical masses in classical music.
I suggest everyone listens to the Verdi 'Dies Irae' you will be amazed ^^
I don't really care if I can't understand the Latin, it's just a beautiful song. Especially since there are so many instrumental parts that rock my core. The vocals are beautiful too. I love I AM GHOST!! <333
More about Latin | Reviewer: Anonymous | 12/25/07
The easiest thing about Latin is the pronunciation. Plus they sing it in Church Latin Style. All you have to do is really pay attention to the song and it is easy enough to get.
They sing in Latin because it goes along with their story and the term 'dark beauty'.
It's easy enough to memorize the Latin anyway.
I love the Latin overtone they have.
I dont get it | Reviewer: Megan | 6/11/07
I don't get why they write some of their songs in like latin because then I can't sing along with the song because I don't remember the latin words. I wish all their songs were just english. At the end of Beyond the Hourglass they are singing in latin again.I just don't get it.
